2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

I submitted mine today. I received a confirmation from the commonapp, when do I receive anything from USC?

do you guys think that we need to still mail our SAT scores if we don’t have 30 units when applying but will have 30 by the end of spring semester? I called the admissions office and one person said yes in case, and another said no don’t waste your money. my scores weren’t that great (1900) so id prefer if i didn’t have to send them

@moncc44 nope you don’t need to. If you’re sure you’ll have 30 transferable units end of spring then you don’t need to send it

@OCCtoUSC I feel that the old GE curriculum is easier to complete than the new one. Less GE courses are required lol

@pomeranian4rich it definitely is lol. I’m lucky.

Who will be watching the Transfer Viterbi Live Chat tomorrow?

I won’t be but do they by any chance do one of those for Marshall?

@penntousc not sure. I just found out about this live chat today

I guess not a lot of people apply to the engineering school for transfer, they only have 130 transfer students this year

@stahboy how do you find out if they’re doing live chats for the other schools?? specifically dornslife

@moncc44 well for engineering I went on their transfer website and then their FAQ website which doesn’t seem to have a lot of traffic. I don’t think all schools have it unfortunately

@stahboy okay ill check that out, thank you!

I’m transferring from a public, four-year college outside of CA with a 3.61 GPA, a ton of extracurriculars, and all but one GE requirement met by the end of the current spring semester. I’m a junior currently. Do you think I have a shot? Regardless, good luck folks!

Shit… i dont think i have completed the english requirement? Will this destroy my chances? Or could i take it this summer before i transfer and still be considered?

@peace4allpeeps I read this on a usc admissions blog

Q: I have only taken one semester of English. Does that mean USC will immediately reject me if I don’t take another semester of English?
A: We expect that students at community colleges will have completed two semesters of English composition before enrolling at USC. At the very least, you may have the second semester of English composition in progress at the time you apply. IMPORTANT NOTE: We are more flexible with our writing requirement for transfer applicants coming from four year institutions. We understand that each four year university has its own general education requirements and not all institutions have courses equivalent to our writing requirement. The two semester writing requirement can be waived for admission purposes but it will have to be completed in order to earn a degree at USC.

Hey how come people are writing 650 words for the essays? On my Common App it says 250 limit for both questions. I’m confused.

@OCCtoUSC There are three essays total. Two of them are USC prompts and the other is the personal statement on the Common App which is 250-650 words

@et8818 how come I’m not seeing the common app question… can you tell me what it is?

@et8818 never mind I see it. It gave me a green check mark for that section so I just moved on.

Hello ppl. Do IB and AP test scores count towards the 30+ credits you need to have to not be obligated to send the SAT scores for transfer students?
