After looking over it, I noticed an interesting blend of humor, academia and introspection. Though, like with most of us, there’s always that lingering thought: “I could’ve written that better.” Uuughh
The ride has just begun friends! I look forward to us all receiving positive decisions!
Hello! I got a 4.0 GPA my first semester of Community college (I took English 1A, US History, Spanish 1 , Music Appreciation & General Biology) (& yes I am apart of TTP)! However, I’m quite nervous because I fulfilled the major requirements for Dental Hygiene rather than Human Biology (It turns out I cannot apply as Dental Hygiene Major because I am not a junior). I am getting worried because time is running out. The USC Counselor I met with back in June no longer works at USC ): I don’t know what to do now!
@dirtydonut The best thing to do is contact your current USC advisor and sort through the details. You might not be eligible for the TTP but for regular transfer instead.
Do you guys think that USC cares more about their supplement vs. the general common app essay? Or is it more of an “everything is important” kind of deal. Because right now I’m really struggling with these supplements but my personal statement is in pretty good shape.
@phoenix23 They say its a “holistic” review of materials so I think all parts of the application are important. I would say the supplement is REALLY important since its unique to USC and some schools in USC require additional material too to make their decision.
@stahboy Mhmm. If you choose any program within Viterbi, you’re automatically hit with 2 additional 250-word essays.
It’s been mentioned before, but a great tactic to make the essay component of your application stronger is to make your Transfer Common App essay specific for USC, instead of a generic “Why I want to transfer” essay that you’d normally send out to multiple colleges at once.
@AGoodFloridian Yup I had to do the extra two essays from viterbi. It was crazy, doing 5 essays for USC, but you really get to show your personality in them
@DirtyDonut I had one of my previous internship employers write a letter of recommendation for me as an academic advisor. It is not required to have one either.
