That’s pretty messed up considering how much money the College Board makes off of the SAT, requesting scores, sending scores, tutoring etc… they charge for absolutely every service knowing how much students are already paying for college, they’re bloodsuckers lol
@alienman1234 Your good dw. As long as you have 2nd semester english ur good. Also it seems you’ve done past the viterbi requirments and recommendations (assuming you finished the lab sciences as well). -Viterbi Applicant
I filled out the CSS Profile the other day for all the colleges I’m applying to. I fall under their income parameters for a fee waiver, except the “first-time” college applicant.
My total came out to be a little over 200 dollars. I still have to send out my SAT subject test scores and the scores from 2 ACT sittings to all of the colleges. Might be around 300 dollars.
Oh yeah, and application fees.
[-(
(note: I did in fact get a fee waiver from USC and Swarthmore because they’re just too damn awesome <3)
@AGoodFloridian the CSS Profile fee is $200? The for the schools I applied to last year I only needed the FAFSA… this is getting out of hand lol
@penntousc It’s because of how many colleges I’m applying to really. There’s a $9 fee and $16 for every college you want to send your CSS profile to.
They waived my fees on the last admissions rodeo I had but I think it won’t be happening this time around because of my status as a transfer student.
Yeah, I’m applying to several schools as well. Even worse is the fact that I’m a non-traditional student so I pay an “archive fee” for my ACT scores because they’re more than 5 years old. AND my stupid current college charges $15 PER TRANSCRIPT to send my transcript to other colleges.
I don’t have to pay application fees though. They’ve been waived because of my income. And that’s good because it’s already several hundred dollars for everything else.
@quin97 Yup, I applied twice Did you have any questions or anything? I’m happy to answer.
And just to add on a little to what penntousc said about waiting, I don’t even think everyone is guaranteed a decision of some form by June 1st (or whatever their deadline is this year). I say this because last year I didn’t hear until June 5th of my acceptance. Maybe it was because I was applying a second time or that I was admitted for the spring, but I didn’t get any kind of decision until after their so-called “set” deadline to notify everybody in some way. That’s actually why I initially sent my SIR to UCLA because I heard nothing from USC and didn’t want to risk having nowhere to go.
^ that’s good to know! I’m concerned about missing deadlines for other schools I get into (hopefully) because USC notifies so much later.
I took a single class at a community college before enrolling in a four year university, and USC wants to see the transcript for it. Do you think it’ll be too late for me to have it officially mailed out by Tuesday next week? I called my admissions officer and was told there was a vague deadline for materials (no date given) and to upload an unofficial copy online ASAP, but I don’t have one.
@mkjmkj I’d have to agree with @scriavel , especially considering it seems as though there are currently multiple malfunctions with the portal, including the fact that everyone’s portal still says they need to submit their transcripts… I submitted mine 2 weeks ago and it still says it. Plus, some people STILL haven’t gotten their portal information, so don’t stress too much over getting your documents in.
@itslife123 yeah ,ive taken 3 quarters of lab based science. 2 physics , 1 chemistry. im way past the viterbi reqs
also, im taking 2nd semester english rn
An update on USC receiving transcripts. Today it changed from required to received for 4/5 transcripts I’ve sent in. I sent them in about 2 weeks ago.
Yeah I just checked mine have been added to the required dox section too
Any schools other than USC you guys would recommend applying too? Business major.
@lilego69 maybe Pepperdine?
I heard Pepperdine has mandatory church attendance though? I may be wrong. But I do know they’re a very religious school
@Pantafootball Definitely not. But you are right that it’s very religious.
I got a confirmation that my transcripts were delivered/recieved around 3 weeks ago, however on the portal it still doesnt say recieved. Should I be worried?
@itslife123 UC Irvine, UCLA, Loyola Marymount have good business programs as well.
@penntousc @scriavel Thank you both for the words of encouragement. I’m super worried, it looks like all my documents have processed except for the community college transcript that I didn’t submit. It’s going to be blizzarding Monday and Tuesday so I doubt that the community college will be open, they’ve been awful to work with. Ugh. If I poured blood, sweat, and tears into my application just for a single class to disqualify me, I really don’t know what I’ll do.
