2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@phoenix23 When you say “prerequisites” do you mean using AP classes for course credit? How do I know if I need them?

No, I mean if you look here. (http://admission.usc.edu/docs/TransferringToUSC.pdf) on pg. 12 on under your major, the coursework required and if your AP Credit is allowed to be used for those classes (see here http://arr.usc.edu/services/articulation/adv_placement_exam_credit.html), then you must send those AP scores to count for those classes if it fulfills those requirements and you don’t already have transfer credit from classes at your current college. In addition, for GE credit on pg. 11 of the booklet, may also be applicable as according “GE Credit for Incoming Transfer Student” on the AP credit pages.

@stahboy Yeah, and I don’t mind at all. Im willing to put in the work to get it done. Plus Ive already finished with quite a few of my prerequisites

So I called and apparently there was a technical difficulty that occurred when my application was submitted… what bad luck… :((

Why meeeeeeeee

My highschool transcript was just updated, wierd that it got updated when my college transcripts were sent earlier and 2 of them still haven’t been updated. I wonder what the logistics process is behind storing all the documents for each student

@mellyjune would you have to resend your application?

USC has received everything but my college transcript. I sent out on feb 2nd… when should i worry

@stahboy the person I talked to said she had to send it over to manual processing because there was a technical error so it didn’t download properly so I don’t have to resubmit or anything but it doesn’t feel very great knowing that there was an error… the person I talked to wasn’t very clear on what happened though so I don’t know… I was thinking of maybe calling again to make sure but I don’t want to bother them so I’m sitting here nervously haha

@balshii it took them like 3 weeks to get my transcript in the database. Also unlike the CommonApp and supplements your transcripts can trickle in later. I would give it a few more days and then call

I just checked 10 minutes ago and it went through, thanks

where else are you guys applying?

Already got into UIUC, Baylor, Mizzou for accounting. Actually submitting applications to Washington, NC State, and UNC today. Might or might not apply to Cornell or Vanderbilt still thinking about it. Also waiting on UCSB.

USC is the only place I’m applying :)>- X_X

I’m applying to Vanderbilt as well, considering Cornell. Emory, Tulane, and UMiami are also choices

The only other place I’m applying to is Temple so that if I get rejected I can commute and take more transferable classes to try again next year… it’s gotten to the point where I can’t even really imagine myself being anywhere else, because USC has the perfect combination of academic rigor, athletics, social scene, location, alumni network, and financial aid (in my circumstances). So for me, it’s USC or bust until they either accept me or reject me as a junior applicant.

Those who sent their college transcripts via online, has the yousc portal updated for you guys? And if it has how long did it take?

@penntousc me too!!! Expect I’m applying as a junior applicant this time so I really don’t know if I have the opportunity to try again next year… like if I got rejected what would I do ? I’ve taken all the GEs courses and major pre req … at that point what would I take hahaha

@silvermansachs My HS Transcript was received a while ago but they haven’t updated my portal for the college transcript yet. I called a couple days ago and they told me to wait a few days before sending again.

@Pantafootball I’m not sure, but I’ve seen your stats and I think you’ll have a pretty good shot anyways so I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you!
