2017 Admission Notifications

My D auditioned has applied to the University and auditioned at the Chicago Unifieds and was wondering if there is anyone that can comment on when we can expect to receive feedback around the BFA MT admission decisions (i.e early March, late March etc)?
Thank you

@bfamtdad My D auditioned at NYC Unifieds and received a letter from admissions a week ago letting her know she was not accepted to her “first choice” major. She had already been accepted academically. I didn’t really like that. It’s very vague. I rather see NO BFA MT. Do they really think she will come to study anything else? So her major is left undecided until we call basically.

I was accepted today into the 2017 BFA MT program! I received an email. I am so excited!

I am accepted as well! @danceduck
I contacted Clay James a couple weeks ago and he said he had just begun sending out acceptances. I do believe that no news is still good news. Most rejections were sent out right away. Accepted students have until April 21st to commit before they move on to waitlisted kids. Maybe contact Montclair about it?@bfamtdad

I also auditioned for the NY unifieds and it took about three weeks to get an acceptance if that helps!

Auditioned during Chicago Unifieds, received my acceptance earlier today

I auditioned at NY Unifieds and havent heard a peep from them. The monday after unifieds I was awarded an academic scholarship but no news on MT yet. I contacted them and they said I should hear back within 3 weeks, yet it’s been a month… Hoping that no news is good news!

For those that already received their acceptance - was it by email or snail mail?

Email

My S auditioned the weekend after Ny unifieds and was notified of his acceptance yesterday via email.

My son just got an email inviting him to an accepted students event. No mention of his audition result. So cruel… :-?

@CATenorMom Lol…I was thinking the same thing this morning when D got hers :-<

My son got the email for accepted students day this morning and then am hour later got his rejection letter (snail mail) for the BFA MT program. Go figure…lol.

No snail mail here and the website doesn’t show that Admissions has received his audition info. Guess that means no decision either way…More waiting in our future.

I would advise anyone who thinks their online info looks incomplete or they haven’t heard anything long after their audition, to call. It is a huge university, very busy time of year for the Admissions department, and there are only a few programs there where you have to be accepted into the major as well as the school. Since those are the exceptions it seems every year there are a few glitches with the audition decisions somehow getting lost in Admissions.

RE: Montclair University. I’m not sure if you have to be academically admitted before the acceptance offers are made or not. But if your file is not “complete:” in admissions, it could delay an artistic acceptance notification.

We just finally cleared up a glitch my D’s applications status which has been reading “incomplete” since December despite the fact that we had given them everything they needed. I spoke to admissions because we had still not gotten a thing from them in the mail – and we’ve been deluged with mailers from every other college. When I spoke to the girl in admissions, she said that they have two different systems where application materials are “entered” and they sometimes don’t “talk” to each other so items remained marked as "not submitted. She was very pleasant and helpful and said my D should be getting something in the mail very soon. For academic acceptance that is.

I think something similar is going on with me. In my portal it says I haven’t auditioned yet, except I did over a month ago. Just sent them an email hopefully this will be resolved soon.

My D auditioned in November and got a “highly interested” e-mail, but nothing since then…
She has her academic acceptance as well as a scholarship offer, but still waiting on the artistic decision.

Does anyone know how they are notifying waitlisted?

We still have an audition on April 1!
