Also: I filled out my housing survey today for Choate and was shaking with excitement. I shouldn’t have been so excited, but I was for some reason??? They asked me my height, which I thought was kind of unusual :-?
@nico.campbell I did too. I think the height is for bed length…maybe?
@applejuice007 better than any guess that I had! I have been nonstop looking at photos of the new student activities center… it’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. I looked at the menu for the little cafe thing in the lobby and I’m pretty sure that I’ll be consuming incomprehensible amounts of food and sugars and carbohydrates. I loved how they had meeting spaces for school publications, and small rooms for study groups and clubs!

You are a great kid and it’s been a joy to virtually get to know you and the other applicants this year. CC wouldn’t have been the same without all of your input @Atria @lusitari @booksandfries
The rest of you parents…there are too many to name but you’ve all helped so much in so many ways…looking forward to continuing this journey with you…get ready for a bent ear! Oh…and margaritas & kettle corn for all. Next time I go through the application process, I’ll be dealing with BS and college applications at the same time. 8-}

@Atria - The MX dorms are really nice. They have a big common room with couches and a TV and the dorm we were in also had a fridge downstairs (in addition to the laundry). It was really well lit, with nice wood trim around the doors and wide halls.
@nico.campbell - Maybe they need your height because some rooms have slanted ceilings. We didn’t visit Choate but at some schools top floors had dormers with alcoves and angled ceilings. They were charming but could be awkward for taller people.
Ahh, that’s so exciting! I’d be shaking if I got my housing survey.

So… GMCkid2 will attend St. George’s in the Fall!!!
He will enter as a new 10th grader (and not repeat 9th, which had been an option). I have been very impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the school and I’m looking forward to reporting back here with more insight. Go Dragons!
