I’m not sure if it was an effort to vet candidates for the January I2E event, but my D received a call on her cell phone yesterday from a student working with the Baylor admin department, asking her what attracted her to the school, whether Baylor was her first choice, if she was going to visit campus, etc…

Today we received an invitation to a “know where you’re going day” on 12/2. I think it’s just coincidental, but I guess we’ll know by the end of the day.

FWIW, she was an OOS academic admin for Engineering (accepted 10/31), and is a NMSF.

1470 SAT, national merit commended, 99.1333/100 GPA… Baylor is my dream school, and I received the Presidential Gold Scholarship, but it’s STILL NOT ENOUGH…

So I may not be able to go there :frowning: @sammyanntx

Does anyone know how many students are invited to each I2E session? My D is accepted with the intended major of mechanical engineering.

I believe around 300 students are accepted per session

What do you think the selection criteria is to get invited to the I2E weekend? – GPA, SAT/ACT scores, Essay – anything else?

Your kiddo should have no issue, being NM, so don’t worry. For the rest, it’s probs all the factors you mentioned.

follow-up to the question about number of students per session…does anyone know how many departmental full-tuition scholarships are awarded?

Probably no one that will tell you. Last year we never got a straight answer from anyone at the school. Maybe we didn’t press hard enough.

My D got her official invitation to the I2E at 3:15 today.

My D received hers this afternoon also! Really excited to see the Baylor campus for the first time.
