As has been discussed I think in the race thread, the SAT and SAT Math 2 do not distinguish between the best math students. That’s why MIT and Cal Tech typically look for AIME and Olympiad, along with coursework, to assess an applicant’s math skill. Two kids getting an 800 in the Math does not mean they’re the same caliber Math student.
