I suppose the few they would take in May or June would be kids put on the Z-list.

Just thought I’d add that last year people got first round of calls around 5/16 and emails around 5/18…

To be honest, after reading through last year’s waitlist thread, I realize now just how impossible it is to get in. I’m just going to do my best to make peace with it!

It looks like 99% of the list will receive the rejection email as soon as next Monday or Tuesday due to the H record yield. They simply have nothing left to offer this year, so it will not take them long time to consider. The very special 1% may get the z-list offer.

Did anyone else get an email for their local rep to see what their plans were for next fall?

@collegehopeful, I assume you got an email. Is that all they wanted to know?

I have learned so much from this website. First my S ends up on the waitlist and I see that his wait might be over this M or T. Now I see that he could possibly end up on a Z list. I can tell you that sent me googling like crazy to find out what that meant. I relayed the news to my DH and he didnt believe it. We suspected our S was waitlisted because he was a NMF and my DH is alum plus we will pay full ride. So he could easily end up on the Z list for the same reasons. What you guys think? I guess we will find out in the next couple of days.

For my S Legacy,NMF, over 1000 CSH, 800 on all SAT 2’s,several honor society membership with officer positons, varsity swim team, model UN, quiz bowl team, theres more but it makes me tired just thinking about it.

Merry: frankly the odds are against anyone on the WL. Save your googling and looking up possibilities for if and when the unlikely scenario arises that your DS gets the call. The vast vast majority of WL kids will be eventually rejected.

Not what you want to hear, I know – but better to prepare yourself for the reality rather than be anxious about Z List and other WaitList minutia when in all statisticaly likelihood, it’s all for naught.

Has anyone gotten a rejection yet?

T26E4 I agree with you. We were surprised when he ended up on the waitlist. Frankly I would have preferred an outright, Sorry. I havent discussed any of this new info with my S. Since I have a second child and I get to go through this whole process this year I was mainly trying to educate myself.

I heard someone talking about calls. Do they call or email first?

pretty sure they call first.

Has anyone called and asked when they’ll be releasing decisions?

Where is errbody going in lieu of Harvard? Any Middlebury kids?

Last year they called the people who got off from the list and sent emails to the people who got rejected almost at the same time on the first wave. They will not have time to call each of thousands WListers. If any one will not get either call or email by the end of this week, that will be a good sign - you are sill on their consideration or maybe a Z-lister. Good luck to everyone who is still hopping.

Going to Dartmouth. WL to Harvard, Cornell, Penn though I would only go to Harvard over Dartmouth.

Just called the Admissions Office. They said that the officers are currently in committee and that we won’t be hearing anything until the end of May or the beginning of June.

I just called too and they said mid June.

I wonder what the admission officers even have to talk about, I thought with the yield as it is, they are essentially full.

esteemom maybe they just like each others company. Sorry I just had to laugh about something. So the wait continues…
