My S took the full tuition scholarship to University of Miami. It was between UM and Rice. He has friends at UM so that what he chose. Cant complain it is only 35 miles from home. Maybe we will see him more.

Maybe the z-list? Looks at least like they might be taking somebody.

oh my god, we’re going to hear until June?! you’d think they would make decisions quicker this year than year considering the even hgiher yield but some people had heard by the end of this week last year! ah!!! so frustating

Z-listed today!

^holy crap that’s awesome. Congratulations!

Did they call you?

manifold, you are in at princeton right? so would you have to wait a year out of school to go to harvard?

Are you a legacy?

manifold, on your profile it says your birthday is September 12 1996 which would currently make you a sophmore… Just a bit confused then as to how you’ve taken off the waitlist unless you applied super early

I have been a lurker for so long and decided to jump in. DD is waitlisted and have been following this thread. I have also been scrupulously following the Harvard Admitted Facebook page. The numbers joining have been going up and down and yesterday it went from 2009 to 2018 so it is possible some new members joined after they were z listed or whatever. What I don’t understand is that if yield is higher this year why is the number on the Admitted Harvard FB site much lower than last year. Last year had 2150 odd members and this year just 2018 or so with a 1 % higher yield. I understand some students would not be on FB but with cancelled visitas I would think more would be prone to joining in. Also, this year seems to have more of the current students on the site trying to engage with pre frosh. This is all so confusing and stressful. Wish they would just end the torture and send out the e-mails with denials

I can’t say that I believe manifold

colleggehopeful my D was born on that exact same date and she is a junior. She is always the youngest in her class but manifold could have skip a grade or he could just be messing with us. I also have a friend whose S just graduated from college with his degree in Physics. He is a very special young man and he is just 16. So who knows. The rest of us are still in limbo.

Anyone know when most waitlisted students are contacted? Also, if they call me and I don’t pick up (i.e. because I’m at school and my phone is on silent), what happens?

@catalyxmaster Thanks!

@Rachelsophie Yes.

@dreamingofoxford Yes. Still in the decision-making process now…

@leopoldsg94 No, not by a long shot.

@olibonn @collegehopeful @MerryFLLMom To clear up any unintended confusion, I am a junior (on the younger side) graduating a year early. I assure you I am not messing with you!

even though manifold is a junior, i can personally attest to the fact that the birth year means nothing. i know a bunch of people in my grade (class of 2013) who skipped a grade back in elementary school, people born in 1996.

Well congratulations and if you z list what are you going to do till August 2014?

should I bother to send H a final transcript? we have to place all our requests by a certain deadline at my school so they can send all the transcripts at once.

I sent them my acceptance letter from GPC and told them if they didn’t get there act together and stop playing hard to get, they might just loose my interest

Last year kids heard back on the 18th. so maybe DD will hear back today. What I am still confused about is why are they not releasing majority of the kids from the WL if their class is full. Is their yield really not 82% and they are working towards getting there? They don’t need to keep majority of the kids on WL until end of May and June if their class is full

@MerryFLLMom I actually decided on Princeton yesterday, so no gap year for me. Good luck to all the other waitlisted candidates!
