No news from school here. Guessing that we’ll just have to await snail mail next week. D’s school is familiar with the process, but still made us wait til press release day to confirm SF status. Just glad there will be letters home next week so we don’t have to depend on the school!

Our school didn’t receive anything today. Took a chance and called NM, and since it is late in the day and the letters go out on Monday would they give an answer? She said YES, right away and looked it up. Finalist!!!

They just told me they would only tell school officials or homes schooled students today. They will tell me if I call back Monday.

Greetings from northern Virginia! School got the letter today and notified us of NMF! This discussion board really helped as we waited and wondered. Thank you so much for all your great tips and insight.

193- lookin for the write schule -> I don't know how you got that information. Tried now, and they wouldn't provide the answer. After some pleading/pestering, all they could say is that 'the student met all the requirements and student has not been withdrawn from the competetion'. Asked to clarify further if it means voluntary withdrawal or NMC withdrawing the student from competetion. She said 'both'. She also said 'No news is good news' as 'student has not been withdrawn yet'. Sounded like positive, but she said clearly after speaking to the supervisor that she cannot provide the information if student has advanced to become finalist or not.
