I completed my 2018/18 FAFSA in early October. I listed myself as a graduate, since I’m intent on entering graduate school in Fall 2018.
I added my current undergrad school to the FAFSA just in case I’ll need to take classes there in Fall 2018, but I’m on track to graduate with a BFA in May 2018 and begin grad school next Fall.
My undergrad aid office contacted me and told me they have me listed as an undergrad (as they should), but that I listed myself as a graduate (which is true, for I completed 2018-19 FAFSA for grad school) and that I need to correct this.
Should I just take my current school off the 18-19 FAFSA since I’ll be graduating in May 2018?
I am not applying to the same school I’m at for graduate work.
Yes, I do receive Pell Grant.
My only concern is that this statement by school is putting a hold on my account, which will prevent my aid from disbursing in January before my final semester, so I’ll be in contact with the office Monday.
I’ve taken my undergrad school off my 18-19 FAFSA. I only put them on there JUST IN CASE.
That is very strange … why would they put a hold on your account now for next year’s FAFSA? Makes no sense to me. Unfortunately, removing them from your FAFSA won’t fix it, because they still have the initial FAFSA. You could go back to transaction 01, the one that lists them … update it to undergrad … and remove the other schools. Submit it, and then you will be squared away with the current school.
