2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@mavsp1 I have the same issue with waiting on them to approve a waiver and a letter they requested for my financial aid. I went to the financial aid office and talked to someone there, and she told me they don’t even look at your financial aid stuff until youre accepted. That’s why you get the financial aid letter after the acceptance. You’ll get your decison without delay for sure, but there could be a delay in getting your financial aid summary.

@USCPLEASE93 My daughter is also Annenberg applicant. Passed Calif. high school proficiency exam and left high school at end of 10th grade. Started community college right away and has completed 48 units as of this semester. She is currently 18 yrs old. GPA 4.0 She has 6/8 of USC core literacies GE completed and one of the global perspectives GE. She has also finished foreign language requirement with 3rd semester Spanish. A lot of EC’s from high school but the last 2 yrs works about 25-30 hrs a week. Applied to communications as first choice and sociology for second. Good luck to you and everyone awaiting their decisions!

also annenberg first choice dornsife second choice applicant here, nothing yet.

@USCPLEASE93 Hey I applied for com and pr!
Stats : 4 year university in NYC ( double majoring)
3.8 GPA over all
60 units completed by the end of the semester
Internships with record label, film studios, and award showproduction work
Non TTP but, LA resident

@angeleno13 yeah I applied for comm and pr too! So nervous since Annenberg is really hard to get into.

So far we have a few SoCal’ers getting their acceptances, and then one Virginia student and one Maryland student with ID notifications.

Financial aid will come within 7 days of acceptance. Having forms in (or not) does not impact admissions. Two separate processes.

@USCPLEASE93 same!! wishing I didn’t put first and second choice just under Annenberg but, I have NYU as my backup… though its still fight on forever

Good luck! Post if you hear anything! @angeleno13

Any ones counselor Nicole Molina?? if so, What are your thoughts or have you heard anything about this counselor

@angeleno13 i almost put comm and pr too, but my friends at SC told me not to before i submitted my app.

@gearsekandou Yah, thats whats smarter however if you dont really have anything else to fit into then you know you go with the floooOOw

@CADREAMIN your insight is always very helpful. thanks for sticking around.

@gearsekandou yeah i put PR as first choice and journalism as second. kinda putting all my eggs in one basket, but i figured if you know what you really want to study then why not. i wonder when annenberg will come out. i’m hoping it’ll be in a wave soon

Are you guys thinking tomorrow will be a larger wave of ID notifications?

@durtysouth thanks for the kind words, my pleasure. Been through this process four times over last 7 years, what a ride.

Hi guys,
Have been lurking here for a long time but posting for the first time. Last night in my portal I had a link in my application status that said “Click here to submit mid-year grades online.”, and then I refreshed that page and that link was gone. What is a Mid-year Grade report and do transfer students have to submit that? Also, do you think that might have just been a glitch because that link isn’t showing up again.

@CADREAMIN according to previous years, when do you think the first big wave of acceptances will come out?

@Jamesharden4mvp I have gotten that too, but I think it is just a glitch.

It really should be this week, it is usually in the April mid 20-something frame (like April 24 which is anytime now). Not sure if the bigger RD cycle set them back a bit though - it seems like there are so many requests for grades - more than usual, at least on here. But hopefully an outright acceptance wave will offset the SGR posts in the next week. They love to send on Thursdays - but don’t take this as fact folks and get all excited - let’s just be hopeful. Fingers crossed. I know it is sooo hard, but try to keep busy!

It is brutal how long transfers have to wait. Typically, after this one big wave, they then continue to sputter until a big push in mid/later May, then back to sputter mode for all those that get SGRs but can’t submit till June. argh.
