2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@USCPLEASE93 I know Nicole Molina!! She just recently moved from Vanderbilt to USC. She’s a really sweet lady! Not my counselor, but consider yourself lucky that she’s yours!

@CADREAMIN “They love to send on Thursdays” You just HAD to say that! :))

@redhair55 By any chance do you know Vargas? Haha.

No I don’t  I only know Nicole bc I met her at a college fair @aznboi4981

@redhair55 Ah okay! She’s mine and has been kind ( We’ll see when the decision comes if that’s still the case  )

@CADREAMIN I know I’ve asked similar questions before, but what’s the soonest you’ve seen Viterbi decisions released? On previous threads it seems like nothing ever comes before May 5th or so but I was curious if you knew any different.

@aznboi4981 But do transfer students ever have to submit a mid-year report because I thought transfer students only were asked to give a SGR or a Final term grades?

gdi, i got the SGR, now i gotta wait till july. I guess its better than a rejection tho.

@jamesharden4mvp If you have any mid year grades they should be updated on your portal and sent in.

@csumit Viterbi tends to spread out versus coming out in a clump, I think because of the small size of the programs/majors. Some hear very early (some Viterbi TTP have heard) but certainly not all. Most are gonna be after May 1st when the RD enrollment decisions are in, they are very sensitive to over-enrolling engineering (versus Dornsife with a zillion majors). At this point no one should be feeling discouraged, it is just a process that drags out and sputters along painfully. I wish they all came out at same time. ugh.

@CADREAMIN Are you saying you’ve heard of TTP Viterbi applicants already hearing this year?

Yes, a friend.

if i got SGR and get a 4.0 for the spring semester is that basically a guarantee for admission?

@CADREAMIN Can you possibly give me more info(when they heard, major, location, GPA)? I’m a TTP applying to Viterbi

@dg2017 No. I’ve seen people on this thread who said they were rejected with a 4.0 for their spring grades in previous years.

@aznboi4981 great thats literally so discouraging

@dg2017 Most do get accepted though. Dw a lot of us are in the same boat, an SGR is a good sign in a way bc it means we weren’t straight up rejected. Just gotta finish strong and hope for the best. That’s all we can do at this point :stuck_out_tongue:

To those of you that have gotten SGRs, what region are you in? If you’re in california, what area? I’m in OC.

Yeah, SGR’s are “better” if you are a freshman applying as a sophomore.

@aznboi4981 better than what?

@csumit Around same time as regular admits, was def before April 1st in Norcal. He had amazing stats in hs (1560ish SAT, 4.5, 800 Math subject test and maybe 760? on chem don’t remember exac, but high) and 4.0 first semester at strong east coast 4 year, so it was no brainer he would get in, just lucky to hear early. Package just arrived, total surprise, wasn’t even thinking about it.

Accepted! -Dornsife Psychology major
Acceptance package dated 4/23

@csumit A sophomore applying as a junior receiving an SGR

@isabellll Congratulations!!! Where are you located if you do not mind me asking?
