@ernesto98 Wow this is scaring me. I think I have 7 W’s total and my first few were from almost 10 years ago and I have a few from 2017 with extreme circumstances that I’ve briefly explained in my personal statement.
@USCPLEASE93 You can find the rest my stats on the admit thread (I got admitted to psych), but I have a 3.9 GPA, TTP, only like 3 ECs, and my essays I would say were like a 7/10. I also had a letter of rec from my comm professor who’s a USC Alumn
@CoCo71 I’m assuming you’re classified as a nontraditional student, so I believe your W’s from 10 years ago wouldn’t be held completely against you
@giakhanhngo123 did you end up hearing anything from annenberg? I remember you said your first choice was comm?
@transferstudent3 It’s possible that you’re borderline and USC just wants to ensure that you can keep up a 3.7+ GPA. I know, it’s strange when sophomore applicants get in without an SGR, but USC can be weird and really particular with SGRs. When I got mine a few years ago, my counselor stated that he only wanted to see my grade in a math course that I was taking - he really didn’t care about the rest of my courses.
Did Dornsife already send out acceptances?
@giakhanhngo123 thanks!!
@zettasyntax that’s what I’m thinking now too. I’ve heard of SGR students getting a 4.0 in Spring and STILL getting rejected. Should I contact my admissions counselor? Or do you think it doesn’t matter at this point…
@GxBearrr My letter is dated 4/25 and the package arrived around 2pm today. My portal is not updated yet just so you know!
@Vincent1997 I sent him an email about a month ago because there was a technical issue with my portal, and he responded and fixed my problem quickly
@csumit which is why I said retake it and get an A lol
@ernesto98 If it’s an easy A sure, but it may be a better time investment to move forward in the math sequence and kill it (get As). IMO an A in calc would be better than an A in a retaken precalc class
@csumit only problem is for most schools you have to pass precalc to get into calc so he/she would have to retake it it anyway
@gearsekandou yes, my first choice is comm!! I unfortunately haven’t heard back yet! However, I mentioned a while back that I got an email from Annenberg Ambassadors and the subject was “Welcome to the Annenberg Family- Check Out the New Annenblog!” I don’t know if this is a hint that I got in nor did I sign up for that. I know one other person mentioned they received it, but it doesn’t seem like everyone has.
All Annenberg majors, please let me know if you’ve gotten that email or any other form of communication from Annenberg!! I’m really curious to see if anyone else has gotten anything!
@giakhanhngo123 I haven’t gotten any Annenberg communications!
@CoCo71 Same here! Oh well, what will be, will be.
@ernesto98 @csumit I think it would depend on the major. A D looks bad either way but if pre-calc is a req for that major, it’d best to retake it.
I believe that if you take the course equivalent at a different school and get a better grade, you can match the grade or clear it (something like that). My friend’s done it before (she made the request but I don’t remember if it actually went through)
@giakhanhngo123 Haven’t heard back from Annenberg! I am a PR major.
Has anyone accpeted to Dornsife as an Econ major? Thanks
Looking at the results thread, it’s pretty funny how there have been significantly more non-ttp applicants already accepted than ttp.
