@PleaseUSC last year when you applied for communications what was your stats? Like gpa, ECs, and didnyou follow the USC courses? And did you take statistics? Thank you!!
Does anyone have jacklyn robbin as their counselor?
@Transferhope8 I have her! She’s amazing I think. I haven’t got my Dornsife decision yet though
Stats:
College transferring from: Public 4-year University in Arizona
Trojan Transfer Plan (TTP): unsure, so no
Major: IR
Entering as: Sophomore
GPA: 3.96
Units completed: 14
Units in progress: 16
Pre-reqs completed: yes
GEs completed: 2/8
Subjective:
ECs listed on app: Nationally ranked athlete, goodwill ambassador to South America in fall semester, volunteer teaching to underprivileged kids in my community
Job/Work Experience: worked 2 jobs while training and going to school full time with all A’s, retail, mainly working with kids and with people from all over the world.
Essays (subject and responses): 9/10 First one I really talked about how my current university does not offer IR as a major field of study. Went on to talk about how I want to be involved in clubs (transfer community, marching band, Greek life, etc.), and finished with the internship availabilities in LA. Second essay I talked about persistence with applying as a transfer as I was rejected as a freshman. I talked about how I persisted through health issues, bullying and coping with rejection. The third essay I talked about what I plan to do once admitted to the school. Spent many weeks crafting my essays to meet their liking.
Letters of Recommendation: No. Last year I had letters of recommendation from USC alum and it didn’t matter in my case. Just hoping that persistence, the right major choice and killer grades will give me an upper hand.
Other:
Other schools applied to: None. If rejected, I will attend my current university for another year and attempt to transfer next year as well! They’ll eventually get tired of my application!
@fluffybunny14 Thanks! I’ve been so out of the loop with USC cuz I was devoting all my attention to the UCs lol. BTW at USC, do you know if you need 64 units for junior status?
@ericbadmon nope! i dont think so. i feel like usc’s pretty flexible with your units completed
I received my acceptance letter three days ago. It was crazy to see that my decision was available to me on the 21st of April on the online portal and I had no clue. I was accepted as a Political Science major and beyond excited to be a Trojan. Best of luck!
She is the best counselor in the entire world! She helped me out so much and I can’t thank her enough!
@MattBags33 Congrats!! Where are you from
@aznboi4981 San Diego! How about you?
Guys I was just going through last years thread and a lot of people were accepted until the end of May! So don’t lose hope all of us still have a reasonable chance of getting accepted
@MattBaggs33 Jersey!
@Elena1355 Yess! And I noticed a large wave around May 3rd-5th aka THIS WEEK!
@aznboi4981 so frkn nervous!
@ivcstudent I attend saddleback right now and I’ve attended some classes at IVC. But no one from saddleback has gotten in yet. But IVC and saddleback havw two different counselors
Guys! So I’ve a 3.7 GPA at UW Seattle. I’m a freshman btw. I tried logging into the portal and it took me to the pre applicant page?! I called the USC counselor and she said that she can see my application and status but when I login the portal doesn’t show my status or anything, it just shows the pre applicant page!! Did anyone else face this problem?! I asked the counselor to fix it and she said she will but it’s been a week and it’s still the same!
Also does anyone have Sara Aguire as their counselor? I emailed her various times and she only replied once and I even called her on her phone but it always goes to voice mail! I have to call the main USC admissions office everytime because my counselor doesn’t respond to my mail or return my calls! Anyone else faced the same?
@missice they usually do not respond on the weekends assuming thats when you sent it. I had the same issue because I sent an email to my counselor on a Friday and did not hear back until Monday around 11ish
I called them last Friday! It’s been a week and the problem hasn’t been fixed! I emailed my counsellor this week as well but she didn’t reply!
@missice this past month it took my counselor 2 weeks before she got back to me. Right now they are super busy, so hopefully she will get back to you soon
