@USCPLEASE93 i just realized i tagged the wrong person in my first reply to you lol. but yes i was full time…I think that if you show an upward trend (with grades and unit increase) you should be fine. remember, they will also look at your essays, letter of rec, etc
@csumit yep there it’ll be in the package section and will say “University of Southern California”
Thanks!
@Ak1097 what part of norcal are you from? (if you don’t mind me asking)
Let’s hope for a huge wave this week!
@xxanonxx san joaquin county
@StipendAwarded Absolutely! I did mention that I was rejected as a freshman, and that I dream of being a Trojan so I am persisting and trying to get in ASAP. I obviously wrote it in a more professional way, but it helps to connect your essay to a topic that counselors will relate to and be able to see you through the words. Also it helps to have great ECs and get good grades! In hs I ended with a 3.75-3.8 gpa and I have improved getting to college with a 3.96 going on 4.0 plus for freshman year. It’s all in the numbers and partly grades! Good luck!
@dwightsbeetfarm okay that makes me feel better ha cause I always read how they want to see you go full time
@dwightsbeetfarm oh did you take statistics and put any ECs?
Any AZ applicants that received acceptance? Also, my counselor was Samuel Williams. Apparently he is fairly new and so when I tried to get in contact with him it was extremely challenging. I went to 2 transfer days and met with many other counselors. Whenever I called it would go straight to voicemail. Never got a response. Wondering if anyone else experienced this with their counselor or him by chance? Thanks!
@Tuttwirl Did you meet CV (initials) by any chance?
Hey guys, im in need of some real advice rn. So I received an sgr in april, I’m a second-year cc student with 60+ credits and a 3.71 gpa (international relations/russian major). I am currently taking a ge math class, russian 4 class, and a geology class. I will finish with A’s in each class except for my geology class (which is also my last ge to complete). I am considering dropping my geology class and just taking a W over a C, but im not sure how badly this would affect my chances of being admitted. What do you guys think i should do?
@a_licon Is there any hope for you to get at least a B?
@USCPLEASE93 yes i took stats and did the english req last spring. if i get in I’ll post all my ECs but i’ve worked and I’ve done research. i haven’t done the lang. req but i speak spanish so I’m planning on taking the placement exam
@zettasyntax how difficult is it to take a heavy load at usc? i know people take 20 units sometimes but would it be crazy to take 22 units? i applied as a comm major and i want to minor in screenwriting so those are the types of classes i’d be taking
@aznboi4981 like a 40% chance of getting a b right now
@a_licon I’m no admission counselor but I think a W would look just as bad as a C. When my counselor comes to give info sessions for usc at my ccc, he talks about how they don’t like Ws (one or two are okay tho). However, seeing as you got an SGR I think you should work really hard to get a B because a C or a W would really hurt your chances.
@Ak1097 congrats on your acceptance! Do you mind sharing who your admission counselor is? (If not I totally understand) I also live in NorCal but haven’t heard any news yet.
@AcceptMoiPlz Hey thanks! I would tell you but I don’t know myself haha :)) is there a way of checking?
@Ak1097 here https://admission.usc.edu/findyourcounselor.html thank u so much ![]()
@AcceptMoiPlz jonesdav@usc.edu
David Jones is the name. Never contacted him or any other admissions counselor tbh.
