@UCHopeful2018 How extensive? I am worried, since my portfolio as a freshman was lackluster, and I do not know if that will impact my sophomore year application.
@JaytotheB About your previous transfer attempt, how come you did not have enough credits? What grade were you then? Also, if I have 30 or more credits done when I send my application, what would happen? If not, would they look at both my high school and college freshman grades?
@StipendAwarded I didn’t have enough credits because I joined PCC in the spring so when I applied I only had 15 transferable credits and if you have under 30 they look at your HS grades and I didn’t do well in HS.
if you have 30 or more credits they don’t look at your HS grades and they don’t care so much about SATs or ACTs because you have proven you can do college work.
S, a TTP applicant, just found out today in the portal that he is admitted to USC’s Dornsife as a transfer. He is transferring from a UC and currently in the Spring Quarter of his freshman year. His has a 3.9+ GPA with 35 units and Math/English writing completed (2 quarters of grades turned in). The restriction is to have a 3.5+ Spring Quarter GPA at the UC. His freshman friend, not a TTP applicant, also from the same UC with a 3.9+ GPA, got admitted to Dornsife with the same 3.5 restrictions. They were each notified first in their portal and not the USPS ID.
@anna717 If that’s the case, I feel like emailing my counselor to compliment her beautiful selfie on the “Meet the Counselors” page. Maybe that’ll make her upload my decision faster? lolol
After years of scrolling, I made an account just for this thread. @darkhound173 and @anna717 I am in the same position coming from a private university in the Bay Area. Constantly checking to see if someone is going to get admitted to Marshall from SF.
@anna717 I am checking constantly! I have been working on a paper since yesterday because I keep getting distracted since I feel the need to check the portal, ID, and this forum.
@longtermreest I feel you guys. I have yet to see a NJ’er get accepted to any school at USC… never mind Marshall lol
@darkhound173@anna717@longtermreest Also in the same boat. I haven’t heard anything (didn’t get a SGR either). Still looking to see if any Marshall applicants from Riverside has heard back. This is making me so anxious omg
Hello everyone! I have been lurking behind my computer for this whole thread, and today I felt like avoiding my essay that is due so I decided to participate in the discussion!
Current College: Saddleback (Community College)
Major: Cognitive Sciences (Dornsife)
Entering as: Sophomore
GPA: 4.0
Units Completed: 27 (Plus 8 from AP Credit, so total 35)
Units In progress: 22 (expecting a 4.0)
GE: All except for math
Prereqs: no transferable coursework for my major offered at my school.
I applied out of high school and was rejected had a weighted GPA of a 4.2, with over 350 volunteer hours, started clubs, had a job, did sports, and took over 9 AP classes and 2 Honors, so my GPA could have been way better). My SAT score was extremely terrible and according to my analysis that was one of the main reasons for my rejection!
Appeal my rejection=denied.
So here I am hustling through CC to get into USC! I have heard no decision or received a request for a SGR! My supplemental essays never fully process to USC and I realized that last week and contacted admission, who told me to resubmit my essays and upload a document to my portal explaining what happen (If anyone knows how much that will way on my admissions decision please let me know!)
I freshman at my school has already been admitted to USC (she’s a TTP), and another freshman TTP has already had a request for spring grades. All the other people I am in contact with who applied to USC have not heard a decision.
I contacted my counselor and she told me to expect to here back in the end of May. Just like all of you worrying you haven’t heard back yet I am too, but I know that admissions is extremely busy with apps and newly admitted students, so we have to remain patient and positive!
@CC2USC hey I’m also from Saddleback! Another person on here who is not TTP has gotten an SGR from Saddleback as well. That is kind of worrisome that our counselor said end of May, I know it is expected but I thought decisions usually(if you are lucky) go out beginning of May
@anna717 Hello! Ahhh I am soooo nervous! There are so many people that applied to USC from Saddleback, sophomore and junior transfers. I really just want a decision (and not a SGR), so I can plan accordingly on what to do for next year. Good luck to you!!
@CC2USC yes I at first didn’t think many people applied but I guess a lot people applied from saddleback! I want a decision so badly too! Did you apply to any other schools? Thank you! Good luck to you too!
