2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

Applying from Loyola Marymount University! Best of luck to us both!

@aznboi4981 If I will be transferring for the 2019-2020 year, could I join (I feel that since I will be preparing my transfer application during the 2018-2019 year, it might be relevant to me)?

I just received a request for spring grades, is that a good thing? :((

@Rickyandmorty yeah man! are you transferring as a sophomore or junior? what’s your major?

I’m hoping to transfer as a sophomore! My first choice is Business admin and second is undecided. @durtysouth

@Rickyandmorty okay hell yeah. SGR’s are common for sophomore transfers because we don’t have a lot of credits yet, and most of us are still taking prerequisites. I’m taking the calc AND english requirements for Marshall right now, so if I don’t get rejected immediately then I’ll likely get asked for my spring grades also. If you were a junior transfer getting an sgr it wouldn’t be as good of a sign haha.

it’s almost overwhelming to see how many people applied to Marshall @-)

I have heard NOTHING from USC, nor do I have the updated financial aid some people are talking about in this thread, but I noticed today I no longer have the “appeal admission decision” in my document library??

Anyone else?

Okay then thank gosh, I’ll be praying that we both get accepted! @durtysouth

@Rickyandmorty :)>-

@scarletred The admissions process will most likely go on until early June. Most of us haven’t heard yet and a lot of us won’t for another month or month and a half. We just gotta deal with the wait and hope for the best I-) Also, I wouldn’t think too deeply into little changes like that, they’ll drive you crazy

@scarletred I think they removed the “appeal admission decision” if i’m not wrong

@durtysouth, you are very right. I’m a viterbi applicant, too, so I’m not expecting anything till May or June. Two weeks ago I swore to stop reading this thread because I’ve been going absolutely bonkers and stressing over this soo much, but here I am, back again and looking for needles. lol

@Rickyandmorty Yea, I noticed they deleted their FAQ on it. I think you’re right. Ugh.

Where are all the Thornton transfers??

@zettasyntax I was also a high school dropout who has never taken the SAT. I am thankful community colleges exist so that I may have a second chance. I will be applying as a junior transfer once the application for next year opens up. Stories like yours give me hope! Hope to see you in this thread next year so that you may help ease everyone’s anxiety again :stuck_out_tongue:

Most of the applicants that hear back in April tend to be TTP students, so I wouldn’t worry about not hearing anything yet. I received my acceptance on May 7th last year and there was zero activity on my portal prior to that

@K1w1B1rd so I called and the counselor I spoke with told me to get in touch with my counselor to double check that it wasn’t an SGR. I emailed him, but I also asked her if she could check if it looked like anything was missing from my application on her end and she said no and that they had received the transcripts I sent. She also said that if the email never specified spring grades then it most likely isn’t an SGR.

I don’t want a SGR!!!

im a first year transfer applicant to annenberg and I was wondering if anyone had any insight on when I will hear back to either send my spring grades in or get rejected haha

@penntousc What is your major?

If I get rejected, not sure if I want to spend another year at CC on the hope of transferring to SC as a junior.

@scarletred Basically my mindset, I’m a Viterbi applicant and I figure I won’t stress about it until Early May.

@Rickyandmorty

Congrats on receiving SGR! Did you receive it via mail, email, or portal? Thanks!
