2018 EA Applicants: What Other Schools are you Considering?

Pharmacy Applicant

Reach: Columbia, yale, usc, bc, nyu

Match: fordham (accepted), rutgers pharm (accepted), northeastern, bu

Safety: uconn, st johns, mcphs

Not really sure whether they’re reaches or matches, but the upper level schools that I applied to were Emory, Tulane, Northeastern, and William & Mary!
But of course, I have safeties/schools I’ve already been accepted to

So anxious about Northeastern!

Reach: MIT (unlikely, particularly after SAT subject tests…)
Match: Northeastern, Colorado College
Safety: University of Nebraska, CU Boulder (accepted and probably attending due to honors and scholarships)

@jessmtn did you receive a scholarship at Fordham?

Good luck NYSTOCK, and others. Now, I will play:
R: MIDD, Duke
M: B.C., NYU, U. of Miami
S: U. of Utah, UVM (accepted to both)

Heya WasatchSk1er,

How many of those have you visited? Midd and NYU WAY different.
Which bucket is Northeastern in? Reach or Match?
And g/l to you too.

I haven’t been to Duke, but neither reaches are my first choice. All others, I have been to. I went to MIDD thinking that it was going to be the “to die for” school. What I found was the most beautiful campus in the world, in an ideal “Norman Rockwell” setting, but both my information presenter and campus tour guide were very strange, to say the least. I left with the impression that there is not much going on, other than studying, skiing and various school sponsored clubs (East African, Middle Eastern, etc.). Having said that, there is NOTHING more enjoyable and relaxing than bombing down a steep slope at warp speeds, I do have very strong language skills, and it would be hard to turn down a MIDD education. OTOH, I loved the vibe at all Match schools (incl. N.U.)…even though NYU can be a bit intimidating.

Reach: I don’t really have any.
Target: NEU (1st choice), USC (perhaps a low reach?), Brandeis University (perhaps a low reach too?)
Safety: UMASS Amherst, MCPHS, Champlain University

For EA I only applied to Champlain, NEU, and MCPHS. I won’t bother applying to other schools depending on the results.

Also, I’m a prospective PharmD student. I’m surprised to see all these other PharmD applicants- there weren’t many at the open house. :O

Reach: Rice, Cornell, Yale, WUSTL, Georgetown
Match: None really. Maybe my safety schools are matches?
Safety: Northeastern, UF, Fordham

Reach: UC Berkeley
Match: UCLA, Northeastern, University of the Pacific, UCSD
Safety: St. John’s University, UCI, UCD, UCR
Northeastern and Pacific are my top choices. ^^

Reach: also somewhat Northeastern
Match: Ithaca, Drexel
Safety: UMass and Uconn

@georgetown14 not that I know of! i had received an email on Nov 20, exactly a week after my application and additional documents were completely received, saying that it was an early notification of my acceptance ahead of the deadline date! It urged me to complete my FAFSA and financial aid soon through their student aid service, to get an estimate. I basically received the same thing in letter form a couple days later in the mail. So when official EA notifications come out, I’m sure I will find out if I received any!! I don’t know much about their merit aid though and what makes you qualified for EA early acceptance notification, i had gotten a 2220 SAT SS if that adds any clarification

Reach: UNC Chapel Hill

Match: University of Richmond, James Madison University, Virginia Tech, Binghamton University, TCNJ, University of Maryland, UMass Amherst

Safety: University of Delaware

Already In: Rutgers (engineering/business/arts&sciences) and Indiana (business)

@jessmtn thanks so much for your response  I applied early and was afraid I missed something! best of luck!

Reaches: Cal-Tech, Yale(one of top choices), Princeton, MIT EA(other top choice), Harvard

Matches: Cornell, Duke

Safeties: SUNY Binghamton EA, RPI, Northeastern EA, Georgia-Tech

Reach: none, lol.
Match/Reach: Boston University (ED)
Safety:Northeastern, Beloit
If I don’t get into BU: Wheaton (MA)

Northeastern is harder to get into than BU lol
