2018 UCF Acceptance/Scholarship Thread

https://apply.ucf.edu/forms/Residency/BasicInfo

This residency form is super easy to fill out. Just follow step by step and in a few days, have your student check their myUCF page and the residency status should update.

I feel like the residency verification wouldn’t affect anything. Mine has been verified and I’m still on waitlist.

My daughter got accepted the next day after I completed the residency form. That department also sent me an email telling me they received it and to check my daughter’s status. I saw a couple of other ppl on CC that said the same thing which prompted me to fill out the form. I thought she had previously done it bc there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the status page leads you to believe it already done but it’s just a disclaimer. Sorry if it didn’t work out for you. I’m sure you have some other viable choices.

I filled the residency out for my daughter and I got an email that the account was updated but she is still on the wait list.

And I will be extremely disappointed if May 31st comes and goes without an answer as some ppl have mentioned has happened.

@djh1220
Classes aren’t in session today, so offices are probably closed also.
Don’t hesitate to call undergrad admissions…its there job!

I will if it isn’t updated by the evening of the 31st

I’m sorry, I hope she gets in. I know sometimes the kids don’t fill everything out and miss steps in the process that can impede a decision being made. I saw that a couple other ppl mention it and it happened to work out for us. I know its frustrating but hang in there.

No need to be sorry, she is ok with a no, but looking for some closure so she can move on. Not to say she won’t be disappointed, but at this point its very unlikely that she will be admitted. Good luck to all students!!

Have her start in Valencia. I heard the classes there are better for starters.

I agree with you, its probably the best fit.

@architectkid has your account been updated?

My daughter applied and got accepted to Valencia. That was her back up plan. Not a bad idea at all but I understand the frustration of not knowing. I’ve been reading everyone’s comments and just want them all to get in especially if it’s there first choice.

We live near Tampa so she may just stay around here. Valencia is a great option, but I was hoping she could live in a dorm.

My daughter is in the dorms for summer but Knights circle for the regular school year. That complex is students only so very similar to living in the dorms. She can still live there if she goes to Valencia. The price is comparable to dorms and it can be covered by financial aid. I’m not sure if that’s only for UCF students though bc it’s affiliate housing of the university.

Oh thanks I will look into that.

@Djh1220 nothing has updated. i’m so frustrated.

I called them around 12 and they said they’re still accepting. Kids tell UCF they’re going to attend and end up not going, and UCF doesn’t know it so they have a spot taken. But I just find the whole thing ridiculous.

I agree with the frustration. They seem unorganized. To post on their website that we will find out no later than May 31st, and then no update is unacceptable. I also called and was told some students aren’t notified until 2 weeks before classes start.
