I know that there is a Chicago thread, but I have not found a New York one. Have searched a lot of links but not found answers to these questions. I hope that someone can help.
- Dates. Although the dates for NY Unifieds are January 20-21, I know of two schools that are scheduling auditions for the 18th or 19th. These schools do not do walk-ins. If we arrive a day early, is there any walk-in activity?
- If an audition is at Pearl Studios, can we assume that the dance call is there, too?
- For walk-ins on Saturday and Sunday, how early should we be getting there? Are there schools that do "only" walk-ins?
The answer to #1 is- maybe. Depends on what schools are there early. When we auditioned for schools at Pearl, the dance calls were there also. When auditions were elsewhere, the dance calls were wherever we were. Never heard of/seen and schools that “only” do walk-ins. And walk-ins happen all day, so being there early isn’t a bad thing if they have sign ups- but sign ups happen all through out the day. Make sure to have a checkbook as for several schools you must fill out an application and/or pay an audition fee to walk-in.
so we can just walk in on 1/19/18, and look for the sign up sheets?
@“overwhelmedmomof#1” -Yup. If the schools are there, and taking walk-ins, they will have it either posted on the walls or on a table in front of their rooms.
