Is a winter grade request a good thing/can you be accepted without one? I didn’t realize USC did that and uploaded my mid-term grade report when I submitted them for the rest of the schools, so if I did that would USC just not request winter grades?
Hey guys new to this thread! I just found out that something really strange has happened to my portal. I didn’t receive any midyear grades request or submit them myself but now my portal shows my midyear transcript has been received on 04/04…Also I checked my portal a month ago and I believed that all my materials had been received back then, but now my high school transcript shows awaiting…I’m completely freaking out right now. I emailed my admission counselor and hope I could hear back very soon
@bvbchamps I did the same thing as you and have not gotten a grade request. Maybe we’re ok
Anyone else get a letter of rec from a USC alum? I did cuz I thought it would look good
I sent my transcripts for the winter grade request like a week ago and it still hasn’t shown up on the portal. Is that normal?
@JasonG1278 I got one from someone who graduated from USC Annenberg even though I’m not applying within that school, but when I was a high school senior I also got a letter of rec from a different USC alum and I got rejected that time lol
Just because you don’t get spring grade requested doesn’t mean you won’t get in, I was a sophomore transfer to USC and was admitted to fall without being spring grade requested.
I’m a TTP-er and I’m pretty shocked that no one has heard yet.
@CADREAMIN @zettasyntax I know this is a bit early, but in case I get in for Fall 2019, I wonder about the situations for classes and housing. My questions are listed below.
-
Is attending the orientation mandatory? Is that the only way to register for classes? This concerns me because I might not be in the U.S. in July, but I can return in early or mid-August. I found that there was an orientation for transfer students in mid-August last year.
-
Will choosing which orientation to go affect my class registration? For example, student A goes to the orientation in July and he gets all the classes. But student B goes to the orientation in August and he only gets most of the classes.
-
Based on my observation on last year’s spread, 2019 Spring admits have a difficult time in getting their on-campus housing. If I were to be admitted to Fall 2019, will I be guaranteed on-campus housing? I have been to USC a couple of times and I really want to live in Village (although it’s probably hard to even for Juniors who are non-transfer students).
-
If admitted, how do you get on-campus housing? Do you get both your classes and housing sorted out during the orientation?
Thank you guys so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
Fight on!
I’m in my second week of Spring quarter right now and because of filled up classes and waitlists, my schedule is different from the classes I indicated I would take on the Common App. Do I have to let USC know about this change in schedule?
i would do that!!!
Hello! This is my first time posting but I was wondering if anyone else was having issues logging into the FAST (financial aid )portal? Thanks
@CookieMnstr I’m having the same issue with my FAST portal
@CookieMnstr Me too! I feel like they’ll update our financial aid info and maybe that could be an indicator of acceptance?
@CookieMnstr I am as well
I am too. Are you all TTP? Also, are non-TTP people also getting this message? Fight on! @atldreamer4 @GoodAfternoonSir @norcagh @CookieMnstr
I meant to say she was NOT a TTP. Sorry.
@ttpusclover I am not a TTP Applicant.
Ok, maybe it’s a glitch but I did check this morning and it was working, and now that weird error message keeps popping up.
I’m not on the TTP but, hopeful that what @GoodAfternoonSir posted is on the right track.
For clarification purposes, not that the error message is an indication of acceptance but more so that maybe something is happening soon. I wish the process was less drawn out. Still, it’s comforting to know that others are going through the same exact process. We’re all in this together
