Got waitlisted in RD for Electrical Engineering. I am an international, does that affect my chances of getting off the waitlist?
I just received my GT Minute update (for counselors) and thought I would share what was the wait list news given.
Wait List Update
This year, 2,058 students chose to remain on our wait list. We are currently trending ahead of deposits compared to last year and will most likely not move anyone from the wait list until after May 1, if at all.
Since it looks like there are more people depositing at Tech this year at this time compared to the previous year, I doubt there will be much wait list movement. Of course that could change, but the language of this update really does not make it sound hopeful for pulling many students off the wait list. This year more than in previous years, I have students talking to me about Tech. I think it is gaining in popularity.
Please be sure to deposit on a college you have been accepted to for the fall.
Guess it’s time to face reality and not hold onto false hope
