Anyone auditioning for NYU Tisch for dance? If so, when is your audition, would you like to keep in contact as it relates to results?
Hi,
My D is auditioning on 16Nov19.
You also may want to check “Dance Major” forums for additional dance BFA information.
We should keep in contact so that we can see how their experience went and when we hear results. Is it early action or just regular decision for her?
yes my D is- her audition is on 12/14
ED1 for my D.
Since the decision will not be out until Dec15, she is preparing for applying several programs which have Dec01 deadline (I am not sure exactly which schools my D is applying…).
oh ok does she want to say in the NY area?
@gmfalv , She wants to be in NYC, so I guess she is planning to apply for Barnard BA (Jan01 deadline), and probably Juilliard (Dec01). Did not apply for Fordham (Nov01 deadline?). I don’t think she is planning to apply Pace, Purchase, or Marymount.
My D is also auditioning on Dec 14. Does anyone know how long till you get results?
@Momof3girls1273 i think typically results come end of Feb-March

Okay, we are off to NYC for Tisch audition!
Dance Spirit posted tips for air travel for dancers, so I thought I should share. It has good points in the article except I am not sure how feasible walking up and down the aisle and do 10 relevés before sitting back down.

My D auditioned Tisch for ED1 this weekend.
The audition started with 1 hour of Ballet, and 1 hour of Contemporary before the cut. 10 out of 23 (22 ED, 1 RD) got through the cut and performed their Solo followed by the interview session. Dancers who got cut were dismissed at that point.
The interview was done in one on one format with one of the 5 judges which was very conversational and relaxing (so I was told). My D said she and her interviewer sat next to each other which made very awkward body positions, since they had to twist their bodies while talking. But my D really enjoyed talking with her. All 10 solos and the interviews (5 judges X 2 dancers each) took less than an hour.
Now, we wait.
Good luck to anyone who are planning to audition Tisch.
My daughter was one of the 10 as well!! @dancemom2024
@mom2020dance, my D commented after the audition that any of those 10 dancers could be classmates if she get in. I hope both of our daughters will be accepted!
@dancemom2024 I really hope so too!!
