2019 Tulane EA/SCEA Decision Thread

I haven’t heard a thing and my application has been complete since late September.

Anyone from Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, or Wisconsin heard yet? I feel like our counselor isn’t looking at applications yet - seems to be mostly Illinois/California residents…

@kateko‌ I’m from Iowa and I just emailed our admissions rep about it today… He said very few will come out this week but after November 15th a lot more will start being released (This goes for everyone no matter the region). But I agree with you, I don’t think anyone from the Midwest has been admitted yet!

Anyone from the Connecticut area hear back yet?

My daughter was just accepted in south florida!!!

@sofla1‌ congrats!!! What date was her application marked complete? And is this her first choice?

anyone from Louisiana heard anything yet?

Anyone from Texas?

NJ?? Or any SCEA?

No word in Texas.

My D accepted EA with Distinguished Scholar ($27k) award today. We’re from Texas. Stats: 4.0 UW, 8/556, 1960 SAT (so there’s hope for many!). Did Why Tulane essay, visited school. Ok ECs (not out of this world) but did go to Honduras on medical support trip. Been feeling like she didn’t quite measure up while lurking CC so wanted to give hope to others like us. She and we are thrilled, Tulane is her first choice!

Highest congrats, @Mil97mom‌. Not sure why you felt she didn’t measure up with that excellent academic record, but I know CC can be misleading because the site attracts the highest achievers. Welcome to the Tulane family.

D got letter and package today. $30k merit scholarship and invitation to honors college. Beyond excited. Looks like she will be going to Tulane!!

Wow, that is fantastic, @1strodeo!! To you and your D I also say, welcome to the Tulane family.

I am a little surprised by the amount though. What is the name of the scholarship? I only ask because the Presidential this year is $32,000 and the next highest award was always the Distinguished Scholar Award, which Mil97mom just said was $27,000. So of course I am curious as to what would be $30,000.

Thanks @fallenchemist‌! We are thrilled and honored by the package! It was more than we thought she would get and definitely puts Tulane at the top of the list! The letter says “Premier Scholar”. I don’t know the different levels. Is this a new one?

I just googled it and found a list- presidential $32k, premier $30k, distinguished $27k, founders $23k, academic $20k, academic achievement $10k. If this is different from last year, maybe they added another level when they increased the presidential to $32k.
