My sons application is complete and “being reviewed by the admissions committee” as of today. 33 ACT and 4.3 GPA. Applied to Engineering School. Can anyone estimate how long it now takes for a decision to be made? New to Florida and not sure what to expect. Thanks!
My D was accepted yesterday. She applied on October 27 and all of her records were in by November 2. OOS, GPA 3.981, Weighted GPA 4.583, ACT 26. We sent in her updated transcript on February 5. My husband called admissions on Wednesday to see what was going on. They said it’d be a week to recalculate her gpa but she got her decision the next day. We paid the deposit same day and now we’re trying to figure out housing. She’s a hospitality major so she thinks she’d like to live at Rosen and shuttle to main campus for GE classes.

Congrats! That was a long wait. I thought that with rolling admissions they would be quicker since they have been receiving applications for some time now.
@FLGDAD 11/26
My son applied 10/6 and received his acceptance 10/24. (He chose not to submit the optional essay so that wasn’t a factor.). Somewhere late Oct the UCF rolling admission system began to bog down. His GF applied early Nov and still does not have an answer. He was told financial aid won’t be posted until April. Even for the kids who have been admitted, how can they make a decision without knowing their financial aid package?
trying to decide between FSU and UCF FSU orientation is filling up. Without UCF aid info decision is difficult
Does anybody know when we can expect to have our financial aid info? I am trying to choose between schools and financial aid will be a big deciding factor in my college decision.
@itsnotmarinara April (according to what my son was told by the Financial Aid office) - see my above post #184
Just got accepted today (2/26) for the fall term. I applied 11/15 and have been deferred since January. I was honestly scared I was going to be wait listed or denied, but checked on a whim at 6pm and found out that I had been offered admission.
Congrats on your admission! I saw from your other posts that you are a transfer. I have applied and am wondering what your stats are and did u apply with or without an A.A.? Thanks!
@Brooke98
My son received notification that he was awarded the Pegasus Bronze for FL Resident Scholarship on February 13. We checked the myUCF portal, but there is no information regarding how much the award is. We emailed the scholarship department and they stated that they cannot release the amount, we have to wait for the award letter to arrive via mail. Has anyone else been awarded this same scholarship and know what the amount of award is?
@nayaac0616 Honestly I messed up when I first entered community college. So I currently have a 3.1 gpa. I never took the sat and I didn’t put my act score on my application since they didn’t require it. I will get my AA in the summer of this year. The only issue that really sucks is that I got my acceptance so late that there really isnt any housing left.
@Brooke98 ok thank u! I’m hoping I can get my acceptance soon!
Son accepted today. Engineering Major.Does anybody know how long after admittance that scholarships are offered?
?
My Daughter was accepted 2/14, via the Summer Access Program but at least she’s in. Didn’t have a great SAT but is top 10% in her class which I’m sure was the push to get in. She will be 2nd gen to go there, UCF much different there from 29 years ago when I started. Good luck to all those still waiting.
I received an admit today for Industrial Engineering PhD. The letter says “If you are awarded a financial offer package this information will be sent separately from this admission letter.”
How much time does it normally take them to give this decision & what do you think are the chances of getting funded?
Thanks in advance
My son was accepted in Oct and his financial aid was finally posted today. i was surprised that it was significantly less than what he has been awarded by FSU.
@FLBeachBaby what state are you in? I know FSU has some special thing they do with GA. Each school seems to do their own thing with out of state tuition waiver things…
We are in state and don’t qualify for need based, so all of the aid my son will receive is merit (and loans).
@ufalumn1997 we are in Florida. I thought the offers would be similar, perhaps even less from FSU but it was the opposite
@FLBeachBaby I saw Oct and read out of state. Sorry about that.
