Are you accepting admission? Yes!

@Alitig1 That’s awesome you got accepted into the Honors College! I have a 1300 SAT and they told me that the average is 1450 to get accepted so I was nervous to apply but now I definitely will!

@supravent I’m not discouraging you from applying but @Alitig1 had a 31 along with the 1310. A 31 would be comparable to a 1410 (100 points higher than their SAT). You should definitely still apply because you won’t know unless you try. Just wanted to point out that the 1310 wasn’t their highest score.

Does anyone know why it takes UCF longer to make a decision about some applicants than others, when applications were submitted at the same time? Do applicants with high test scores/gpas get accepted quicker than others with not as high scores/gpa? My son applied (in state) in October for Summer 2019 and I have seen others apply around the same time or after him who have already received responses.

If I get a scholarship what would be the point of hitting decline or extend? Does pressing accept mean I’m committing? Also, if I have bright futures, do the two scholarships stack? Like could I use one for room and board and the other tuition.

@awkward4ever
Extend so they don’t give it away!
BF pays first, then scholarship

Are you accepting admission? Undecided. I am currently waiting for other college decisions to arrive by March and then I will make a final decision then.

@NinjaMom123 My daughter is somewhat in the same boat. I don’t know the answer, but I do believe they are holding her application a little longer to decide whether they will put her into fall or summer. She applied to fall, and her stats are pretty good, but possibly she’s on the lower end of the “match”. She applied on November 1 and all her scores and transcripts were sent in shortly after and she still hasn’t gotten a decision yet

I also think that because there was a recent round of college acceptances across the country for early decision, some decisions are being made as students begin to commit to other colleges. Once that starts to happen, those that applied to UCF but preferred another school will decline the UCF offer and that will free up some more space.

This is just my thought process! I feel that we will hear back from UCF any day now. Best of luck to your son!

Applied to Burnett Honors College-application received 12/17, hoping to get a response by mid-January

Accepting admission? Most likely. Received generous merit scholarships at Stetson and Rollins (President/Dean’s Scholarships) but D is interested in the BSN Nursing program. Applied at FSU and UF and will hear back in January and February. Assuming that she gets accepted at UF, doubtful she will see the merit scholarship funds. Getting into Burnett Honors would definitely get her commitment, especially since we are in Seminole County and she would have family support close by.

Any feedback on admission to Burnett will be helpful. D is really hoping she gets accepted!

DS applied for Summer because he wants to start college earlier and received his admission decision quickly. However, he has not received any news of an in-state merit scholarship, although his stats are right in there with other students who have received merit awards. Did he screw himself out of a scholarship by selecting to start in the summer session?

My daughter got Pegasus Gold. She hadn’t applied for Burnett yet. Her application was received on Monday so we hope to get a response by mid January.

Are you accepting admission? Maybe

Just wondering if its just me but I see so many people who applied and got their decision within two weeks and I applied almost 2 months ago and still no decision. I also confirmed that all my documents needed were turned in. Any ideas why it is taking so long?

Many of my son’s friends applied in late Oct and early Nov and haven’t heard - seems like that is when they received a flood of applications. If you are concerned you can always call the admissions office - they are very nice to work with. Good luck!
