We checked myHonors today and the status shows Accepted for my daughter. She applied to Burnett and they received her application on 12/17. Happy to get such a fast response since they just came back from winter break. Looking forward to the approval packet coming in the mail. I guess she’s going to be a Knight! ?

My son was accepted into the honors college with a nice scholarship… now just got a packet inviting him to Lead Scholars Program. Has anyone heard anything about this?
https://lsa.sdes.ucf.edu/lead/ it is a great leadership development program and my son will be submitting an application
@fbhsmom where did you see a scholarship offer in the portal? Did you get a letter?
@xiaolind He got a letter in the mail
My daughter was able to check under myUCF under Financial Aid and Student Center. She later received the letter for Pegasus Gold.
I am wondering as well if anyone has anything to share about Lead Scholars. My daughter got an invitation to apply but wants more information. I am curious about the leadership class requirements. I hear some Burnett Honors students also participate in Lead and some live in their LLC which doesn’t required the 11.5 month contract as does the Towers.
Wondering if anyone else out there has had their application pending for over 10 weeks? My daughter applied on 11/1 and still hasn’t gotten a decision. There are no holds/to-dos, and she sent an email to admissions a week ago and they have not replied.
Yes, my daughter submitted everything in September. No word yet.
@gizana Yes, my daughter submitted everything in September. No word yet.
@Gramm4 , thanks. Did she happen to reach out to admissions to ask if there was any issue with her application?
@gizana She called once in the fall to make sure they had everything they needed. Then she emailed them today telling them her guidance counselor submitted her 1st semester grades.
My Son applied in September, in November we sent an email with a question regarding how long it was taking to update to show his transcripts were received and was told "Unfortunately this is where we are at with document processing- we received over 10K common apps so far (as of Nov 8) not including the direct UCF application. “Additionally we operate on a rolling admissions basis, do not have application deadlines or even a time when students can expect a decision. The timeline for admissions decisions vary upon the strength of a student’s credentials and the competitiveness of the applicant pool”.
Seems like a very long time for rolling admissions to me.
I’ve applied to UCF on Jan 13 through the Common App and didnt know it would take two weeks for it to process and I wouldve just instead used there UCF application which would take two days to get my NID. Now I called them to see if I would be on the Top 10 Knights and they said no. I’ve already sent them my SAT scores and my transcript is with my common app. So is my chance of getting slim now or would I still have a good shot? And when would I get my decision? Would it at least come before May 1st? Is the spots already mostly full and is it more difficult to get in? I’m worried someone please reply back!

@gizana My son submitted his application for summer on October 25th and his high school/ college transcripts were received shortly
after. I did call a month ago and basically was not given any information about when a decision would be made other than he would be notified by May 1st. It is very frustrating to see others, who have applied after him, receive acceptance within 2 weeks. I do realize that those with the top scores/gpa probably receive a decision quicker than those whose scores/gpa are not as high. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for those who applied around the same time, that we receive a decision soon. This is the final application decision he is waiting on and he is very anxious to receive an answer so he can make a decision.
It seems like this long waiting period is a really common thing for UCF now. My daughter submitted her application as a transfer for summer 2019 back in Sept. Portal updated in November that they wanted to see her fall semester grades. Sent those last month and still waiting for a decision.
It’s officially been 4 months since she applied. The funny thing is that she was already accepted for this past year, but decided to stay local to get some of her general classes done for cheaper than out of state tuition and reactivate her application for 2019.
Since then, she ended high school with a 4.5 GPA and got straight A’s her first semester of college. Not sure what else they want her to do…
Calling them does help. My daughter applied over the Thankgiving holiday weekend and online it kept saying waiting for transcript even though it was sent weeks earlier. That was finally acknowledge and the fee waiver form that I had emailed twice was still showing pending. I called yesterday and essential told them the hold up it making it hard for us to decide where she would go. They said they would look for the email to complete the file. Apparently they finally looked and today the application status was update to accepted. The hold to get someone is usually not too long either, so I suggest calling. Stats: 3.8 weighted gpa, SAT 1300
