Hello everyone! I am currently a freshman in college, and after only two months I know I want to transfer to another school. USC is my dream school and they (thankfully) take lower-division transfers (30 completed credits). I am enrolled in the honors college at my school, and 4/5 of my classes are honors-level. So far, my grades are pretty good, I think I’ll end up with a 3.88 GPA for the fall semester if all goes according to plan.
Because I intend to apply to USC after only one semester is fully completed, I know high school stats will play a role in the admissions process. My high school grades were pretty good throughout highschool, I took all honors and APs with only 3 Bs… until my last semester, where I got 2 Bs and 1 C. I got a 31 ACT, 33 superscore. I know USC bases their decision almost purely off of academia, so I’m afraid they’ll weigh my poor academic performance in that last semester of high school over my academic performance in this first semester of college. I’m also afraid they’ll simply reject me instead of requesting my spring semester grades… Does anyone have any experience or advice in this regard? How can I paint myself as a stronger transfer applicant?
