Will APs count for more this year with the relaxed focus on SAT/ACT?
Will colleges understand if students in the US couldn’t pursue summer internships with everything closed?
no and yes, from what I know.
AP’s were weird this year and a lot of schools still don’t offer them so they definitely won’t count for more. Schools will likely just place more emphasis on GPA and essays since that’s all they have to go off of for most students.
As for the second question, yes. I mean most colleges host their own programs for high school students and had to shut theirs down as well, they can’t fault those who were affected by it.
Also there is usually a comment section under activities or something like that, you can always explain it there. Some schools even have a section of the application where you write how the virus has affected you.
