@smartypants57 Yeah, and those are just tentative dates. Or, they can at least be broken.
UChicago’s says December 17th, but they’ve announced for December 18th.
I’m pretty sure it will at least be before MIT’s though. Which is the 16th.
@tutututututuru Touche. I read somewhere else that colleges tended to stick to those dates, but clearly not. Either way, I don’t think it’ll be late by more than a couple days.
Yeah. And I got to thinking again that I’m getting all hyped up for probable disappointment. gg no re
slightly unrelated, but for MIT I called the admissions office one day asking when they would release decisions. All they said was “we will send out an email some time soon with the decision date.” The funny thing was, they posted the notification that very night. So, maybe it will be tomorrow?
TL;DR admissions officers are VERY cagey and there’s still a chance that the Caltech decisions will be released tomorrow.
That’s enough reason for me to get hyped again
Wow thanks for all of the information!! I too have been searching the web for any indication of the decision release date, and this has been very helpful!
any final conclusion on release date for EA?
no, there is not. Tomorrow hopefully
We suspect they’ll release in the next day or two because they took away the checklist on the Caltech portal, which they generally do just before releasing decisions.
Is it really usually right before? Or is it a few days before? I don’t know
Actually, I do remember a thread where like, they were debating whether or not the decisions would come out all the day before, and there were posts even at like 8:53 a.m. where they said it wasn’t going to come out that day. Then posts at 9, 7 minutes later, were about results.
Moral of the story is: it’s TOMORROW
But didn’t they always send an email the day before?
Basically Caltech doesn’t give much heads up about when they release decisions. Which I suppose does have some bonuses - servers are less likely to crash (since people will be in different places and may not be prepared to check their decisions, thus spreading out the demand), and the anxiety you feel is less targeted at one particular date and time - even if it does increase stress and anxiety in some ways.
I’m being recruited for sports and really hoping that I get in.
@Fireball99 If they sent the e-mail, why would they have been debating about whether or not results would be released until minutes before?
@polandsprings1 Same here (swimming)! What are you being recruited for?
@ReckoSkirata for baseball
Haha coolio. I got to visit campus in the fall for an OV, and it was pretty awesome. It’s really cool to see that the swim team is improving drastically! They’ve already broken a ton of records this year.
Good luck!
So are we saying tomorrow?
