2020 M10 Decision Release Timing...

CC, Happy F26!

Only 13 days left to go until the much-dreaded M10!

As requested by @skieurope , below is a continuation of @LeeLeeB 's comment (http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/22611325/#Comment_22611325) on the M10 freakout thread about the decision release times. This, combined with last year’s post, has provided me with the information found below.

As with last year’s thread (http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/2122645-decision-notification-dates-p1.html), the rules are simple:

  • Add schools to the list that you know/are interested in
  • Comment with new information by replying to the previous comment by copying and pasting the data from the previous comment
  • (?) means that the poster is unsure. If a (?) appears, please update as soon as information is available
  • PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD ORGANIZED!
  • I will try to update the original post as much as possible

(Hey, @skieurope , will you please sticky/pin this thread?)

Sincerely, @2024ac

My emails from Groton and Hotchkiss are both saying 5 pm EST. (Listed here in the am — Hotchkiss listed twice). I don’t want to overwrite someone’s work if it’s intentional. Are those just errors, or am the one getting it wrong?

@Calliemomofgirls sorry if I’m disrupting this thread, but I was wondering when you got those emails? There was nothing in any of my family’s inboxes. Thanks

@gmmnvctra My parents got the email for Groton. I think it was in the link for the portal?

We’ve got the same emails from Hotchkiss and Groton confirming 5:00pm decision time, from “an account has been created for you” when we completed the applications.

@2024ac How about we start a new list entirely from times sent to us during this application season? Just in case more schools have changed their notification times from last year.

I can start:

5:00pm: Groton, Hotchkiss

Times are EST.

12:00 am - Taft, Kent, Pomfret
3:00 am - Cate
5:00 am - Brooks
6:00 am - Exeter (possibly batched), Lawrence
6:30 am - Deerfield
7:00 am - SPS, Andover, Cranbrook
7:45 am - Choate (?)
8:00 am - Hun, Cheshire, L’ville (?), George, Episcopal
8:30 am - Loomis, Hill
9:00 am - Concord, Groton, Middlesex, Peddie, Porter’s, Hotchkiss
1:00 pm - Blair (?)
5:00 pm - SAS, St Marks (?), NMH (?), Hotchkiss
12:00 pm - St. George’s (or earlier)

@2024ac thank you for creating this thread. I believe it can really help many of us. I do agree with @mondaydevil that we need to start a new thread with only confirmed times. There are a number of errors on this list. I believe we should only add a time if someone can confirm they received a communication this year. I’m happy to start a new one if you like, just let me know.

The only two on your list we have received confirmed times are Hotchkiss @ 5pm and Deerfield 6:30-8am. The other 5 schools we are waiting have times listed here but we have not heard that directly from any schools.

I can confirm that Groton’s admission decisions portal states that their decisions will be available at 5pm EST on March 10th. I hope this is helpful!

Good luck to everyone!

Ditto. Groton is noted as 5 pm on the portal.

Deerfield: 6:30 - 8:00am
Hotchkiss: 5pm
Groton: 5pm

(Times are EST)

Cate 3:00am
Deerfield: 6:30 - 8:00am
Hotchkiss: 5pm
Groton: 5pm

Times are EST)

Cate 3:00am
Deerfield: 6:30 - 8:00am
Middlesex: 7:00-10:00 am
Hotchkiss: 5pm
Groton: 5pm

Where did the times comes from in that longer list e.g. Post #11? Conventional wisdom, prior years, something else?

I think #11 copied from my post on the Freakout thread, which I made based on last year’s M10 (which was M9 last year due to falling on a weekend). When kids posted at midnight in 2019 “I’m in at Kent!” or at 5am multiple people said “I’m in at XXX” “I’m waitlisted XXX” then the time of the posting of that info is what I used to develop the list. It was based on 2019 Freakout thread replies with that info.

But I did say in my post, please update/change if you have more accurate times, and I wasn’t sure if it was accurate for this year.

Sorry for any confusion it caused.
