I figured I would start this thread for everyone to keep updated on when they hear back from UMass for the regular decisions.
Hi students and parents of the incoming UMass Class of 2020!!! My name is Brock Parent and I am a Program Coordinator with UMass Summer Programs! I want to share some information about an exciting new summer program called Jump!, which is a FOUR-WEEK, TRANSITIONAL SUMMER PROGRAM FOR INCOMING STUDENTS where students get a head start on their credits, and navigating their campus and social life. Jump! 2016 will be our second year of the program, and will run from June 26-July 23! This is a great resource for students!!! While students are here, they WILL ATTEND NSO and have additional support from staff beforehand, and get the opportunity to become accustomed to life on campus before the school year starts - go to the dining halls, take classes, explore the local area, find a group of friends, and so much more. Our 2015 students had a terrific experience in the program and are all now exceptional UMass students, some of whom we are exciting to bring on as staff for Summer 2016!!! I want to tell you about JUMP!, A FOUR-WEEK TRANSITIONAL SUMMER PROGRAM FOR INCOMING UNDERGRADS!!! Anxious to come to college? Want to get away from home? Want to give yourself the opportunity to get ahead before you even begin school? Then Jump! could be for you!!! In Jump!, students live ON CAMPUS IN THE BEAUTIFUL, AIR-CONDITIONED COMMONWEALTH HONORS COLLEGE RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY FROM JUNE 26-JULY 23 (open to non-honors students as well), earn 5 ACADEMIC CREDITS, FILLING A GEN ED, and get the chance to get comfortable on campus!!! In 2015, we went to New York City and MASS MoCA, we went on hikes throughout the Pioneer Valley, hosted distinguished faculty members for intimate conversations right in the dorm, and sooooooooooooooo much more! Jump! is a chance to get ahead but also have to have a fun, comfortable transition into school.
