2021 Scholarships!

Hey! I was wondering if anyone has receivef scholarship notification who applied for 2021?

Also, I’m trying to figure the actual scale of the scholarships. I recall seeing a pamphlet with SAT scores in order of tiers, starting at 1250 for tuition and then working its way up, 1300 for tuition and room, 1400 for tuition and fees, room and and board, and so on.

It also states that all eligible recipients receive an award.

But on Howard’s website, the scholarship criteria seems different. The scholarships are also described as first come, first served.

Which are correct? Does anyone know?

Link to the youtube video with the pamphlet is below. Skip to 1:50! I also believe the photo is posted on a thread here as well!

The scholarship guidelines were indeed changed last year. The link above answers your questions.

My daughter received the Presidential Scholarship which is full tuition, fees, room, board, laptop, and $950 book voucher. She had 34 ACT and 3.9 GPA.

Last year I was offered a full ride. 31 ACT, 3.79 GPA.

I got the Leadership Scholarship. I think its full tuition, room etc
Sat 1220 95 average
Lots of IB and APs

Was this this year, 17-18? @sugarpup102

Hello, I am an international student and I got into Howard university about 16 days ago. In my acceptance email they wrote that information regarding my financial aid package will be email from the office of financial aid. However, I didn’t receive any Financial aid information as of now. Should I be worried?

@Kurt1997 I don’t think you should be worried, it’s coming! It takes some schools a lot longer than a little over 2 weeks to get financial aid letters all set. I was accepted into most of the schools I applied to, in October/November. I’m just now receiving financial aid award letters that began in late January/early February. I’d say you should be worried if you havent received it by the beginning of April, though!

Did anyone receive more scholarship money than was listed on the website?

I got the capstone, and I did, and my efc isn’t low at all. I’m wondering why.

I got the Capstone Scholarship. Can anyone tell me whether the scholarship covers room costs or not?

@neilind Apparently it covers tuition and room. But don’t quote me, haha

@neilind I believe the amount covered by capstone varies from person to person based on financial need.

@cookiestar I’m pretty sure it’s room and tuition. That’s what it says on my scholarship contract. And if it were need based, I don’t think I’d get much. Maybe their site is outdated or something.

Hi… I’m an international student and I had received my acceptance email from Howard a week back but haven’t yet heard from the financial aid office.
I had a SAT score of 1260 (new) and a GPA of 3.8 (unweighted).
What do you think guys? What could be my chances of receiving a scholarship?

@Fanthomperson According to the website, the scholarships start at 1270 new SAT. I’m not sure if they would still give you a scholarship because your score is so close, though. The one I got is tuition and room and it starts at 1270 and goes to 1450 SAT.

@jolealea yes that has me worrying to death! And I got WES report recently. Turns out my GPA is a complete 4.0. Will that by any way support my chance at a scholarship?
