2022 ED Chances? Will chance back! :)

Hi! I’m a current junior and over spring break I visited Dartmouth and went on a formal tour for the first time. My mom is an alum, so I’ve been to the campus before (a few years ago), but I completely fell in love again. I want to major in political science, government, or international relations and being in NH would be incredible during the 2018 midterms and 2020 presidential election. I am interested in applying ED for the Class of 2022 and hope that I can get a rough feel for my chances. Thanks so much!!

SAT II (subject, score): 670 Chemistry (terrible, I know…), taking US History and Math II in June

GPA: 91.72/100 (weighted I think? this is the only number my school provides), rising trend over past 3 years, 2nd semester junior year grades are/will be great though and this number will rise; for context, I go to a very academically rigorous school

Current Course Load: AP English Language, Spanish IV, Advanced PreCal, Physics I, AP US History

Dartmouth legacy (mom is alum)
Lived overseas in Middle East for 3 years when I was in elementary school (haha trying to milk that to its fullest, but I do really credit it with shaping my worldview)

I think you’ve got an awesome shot. Not only is your mom an alumn (helps a lot), but your Ec’s are AWESOME!! u seem like a really intriguing person and I think you have a REALLY high shot, even at other ivies!

Very very good shot.

Like the others said, you have shown commitment to your ECs, great grades, plenty of volunteering, etc. You’ll probably make it but keep in mind its an ivy

I think you’ll get in. Good luck!

you have amazing extracurriculars as well as amazing standardized testing scores! you’ll definitely make it into Dartmouth

Nice ACT score and EC’s. Legacy plays the biggest role in ED, so if you ED you will prob have 75% chance of getting in b/c your scores and activities. If you interview see if an alum your mom knows will interview you and write you a nice review summary. Good luck!
