2026 BFA Prescreen Results

Anyone know if Baldwin Wallace waits for admission until after mT audition. This is the only school my D has not been admitted to but her audition is in February.

Here we’re with you @Allie_Velasco1 , awaiting for my D’s prescreen feedback from UMich. Wondering if we must first submit her Senior 1st sem school report? (which will be ready in Jan only.) We got an email from UMich asking for it.

“You did apply to be considered for both Music Theater and Acting. The Music Theater faculty have decided to pass on seeing you for a live audition, but the Acting faculty would like to see your work live.”

This above message from CMU means a 100% rejection from MT?
Any chance they’ll re-consider?

@sylsri

My D is a college transfer student. She has 40 collge hours at a community college. We got an email asking for my D’s transcript. She did already submit it. But, she went to two campuses of the same school and I don’t think they realize that both campuses work is on that one transcript. D responded to the email, explaining it’s only one transcript, not two. She got an automated reply that they would be out of the office until the new year. So looks like we won’t get prescreen results until the new year when this can be straightened out? :thinking:

Congrats!! Live audition will be virtual or in-person?

i think aspiringMT was talking about CCU - Coastal Carolina? (according to one of her replies in June) Well, i actually wanna say THANK YOU to both of you, for sharing so much of your experience. Still reading your previous threads and replies, which really helps in this misty moment. After all, it’s truly a blessing that we can go through all ups n downs, together with our loved ones. (haha ik i should wait till April to write this)

Yes, that’s right. It was Coastal Carolia - good sleuthing! I find this entire process so fascinating which makes me come back to CC to check in on how things are going. I also like to contribute because last year it felt like everyone was passing all sorts of prescreens and having amazing success and although my daughter ended up with several options, there were a LOT of no’s along the way. I hope to be able to reassure those who are hearing no’s that there are a lot of us out there (they just might not be so vocal on CC) and that there are many good programs so all is not lost if you heard a no from Michigan and CMU. My daughter has had a wonderful first semester at LIU post. Feels like she is getting excellent training, enjoying being close to the city but still on a campus. She sent me her voice final and I was absolutely floored by the improvement.

My D was on the wait list for MT and we did NOT hear anything from the school or the financial aid/merit scholarship until she came off the waitlist in late April, so dont stress, its not that hard of an academic admit & they are fairly generous with academic Merit money ( I think the sliding merit money is actually on their website.) Good luck in Feb. My Daughter loves it at BW. she is the president of her class & runs the master classes so you might meet her at your on campus audition. BAL

Yes, we need your support, thanks! just had a glance at LIU info, looks great! but it was not in DD list :frowning: i started to think maybe she should enroll more than just 15 schools. it’s not too late to apply for a few more … but seems too late for LIU 2022 Fall?

we were a no from fsu as well. Thankfully that wasn’t a top choice for our D! That was our one and only reject. I’m very curious to see what they were looking for this year. I’ve heard its been a lot of no’s from them. kinda shocked me!

Has anyone heard from UT-Austin or USC?

Anxiously awaiting CA school (CalArts, USC, UCLA) results in the next couple of weeks. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers: So far, we’ve got a prescreen pass for Chapman and an EA deferral to RD for LMU. Thinking we won’t hear from UCSD until decisions are released (ie, no interview/audition).

BAL. Lot’s of waiting still going on over here too. I imagine it will be soon. Still wondering what might happen with all of these in-person auditions scheduled for January. In between the uncertainty with flights and the fact that NYC is not in a good place right now with the incredible number of Covid cases.

Anyone still waiting on UMich? We STILL haven’t heard back. So weird. Seems like we’re the only ones, lol.

Saw Rutgers & Purchase moved online. Looks like the omicron peak for NYC may unfortunately line up with Unifieds. We still have a couple auditions booked in person, but thinking that could change.

Suny Purchase (BFA Acting) says they’ll be reaching out on a rolling basis regarding callbacks from November. Anyone who has submitted and heard back: how long did you wait to hear back after submitting?
