Is anyone else who submitted Pace in early December still waiting on a result? I submitted my prescreen a month ago as of tomorrow and I still haven’t heard back. I know that no news isn’t bad news, but I’m getting pretty anxious considering the fact I was supposed to get my result within two weeks. Should I email them?

Haven’t heard Purchase prescreen results yet. I think they have a later deadline (Jan 7) and have released decisions right after in the prior year…but assuming anything can change? BAL
Thanks for that detail re when they released decisions last year - I couldn’t find anything on it anywhere on here.
Does anyone know if Hartt waits for academic to pass prescreen or if the academic decision is held off to see if they pass the prescreen? We’re still waiting to hear if D passed the prescreen, but other colleges have not passed on the prescreen and accepted the academic, so I wasn’t sure how Hartt does it.
Also, we got an email saying decisions on prescreens would be emailed out no later than Jan 18, but the audition date at Hart is Jan 22-23, so if D passed wouldn’t they have let her know by now so that we could set up an audition? I’m just thinking it’s more likely to be a no if we haven’t heard yet, but I also have no idea how this works. LOL

I would definitely email Pace. The staff member who handles performing arts admissions is very friendly (I think his name was Wayne, but I can’t honestly remember). School ended on December 22nd, and they don’t start their Spring semester until January 24th, but it cannot hurt to email. They may or may not be monitoring the account during break. Be sure to let them know which programs you are waiting to hear from (Acting, MT, or FTVC) as that will hopefully make his response more through.
Thoughts on Guthrie? It wasn’t on our list, but they reached out through acceptd and now it’s past the deadline, but they’re still accepting apps.
Interesting just passed Guthrie they are online for the callback weekend now

Just passed Guthrie here as well, yay. Looks like they extended the application deadline until 1/15 and its a very easy one to complete. We are local, but its a very reputable acting program.

UM Duluth, or UMD is 3 hours north of the twin cities. It is a smaller college but has a good regional reputation for their arts programs. It is reasonably priced and a pretty campus. They have a BA and I believe the BFA is only available after freshman year. It has often been viewed as a regional safety school, but they definitely show up in playbills here in the twin cities. Wanted my D to apply but the audition weekends didn’t fit into our schedule and a few of her former classmates went there that she viewed as middling talents, lol. You could do much worse for sure, especially at the price.

Minnesota Guthrie is one of the top Acting programs in the US. Gold standard. Not MT, but Acting. Many consider Julliard, Minnesota-Guthrie, Ithaca, and Carnegie Mellon to be some of the best acting training in the world.

Has anyone heard Prescreen results from Florida Southern College today? Their website said they would notify by email on 1/3.

Thanks for the info. We are in Chicago and didn’t really look into Minnesota. D has applied to many schools, but thought adding a couple more couldn’t hurt. Plus, someone said on here if a school reaches out through acceptd to not dismiss it.

If the audition doesn’t happen until after freshman year, what are audition weekends for?
My d has since committed elsewhere, but she has e-mailed several questions to Florida Southern (I think two about her prescreens and one about whether or not they were going to Florida Combineds) and gotten no response. It’s the only school she has never heard back from.
My daughter has emailed them… we will see, ugh! Thanks for info and congrats on the early commit!

Has anyone heard back from Purchase or BU for prescreens?
That doesn’t seem to match up with any of their notification dates. Which audition did your student sign up for? My daughter is trying for the 1/22 virtual.
