I "was" gonna apply to HYPS but i guess i can't now. I'm a rising senior and i dunno if i have enough time to take the SAT II's and retake my SAT I. I am sure i can improve, cause on my pracs i always get 800 M/780-800 W (but not sure of V!) I truly dunno what to do. I haven't taken any SAT II's yet cause the Cndn system is different and i'm planning to study for SAT II's in summer.........sigh....dunno what to do >< so frustrated.

you have time to take both...take SAT IIs in Oct and SAT Is in Nov or vice versa...
you can't apply ed/ea, but usually you would only apply to one of them early anyway.

yeah...there are a lot of frustrated people on this forum today...sighh...

some colleges don't know what to do with the writing, so technically you have a 1420 by the old SAT, which won't put you outta the running. you're better off than me actually- i have a 2150 but only 1380 by the old SAT. and, since you're not applying early to all of those schools, i think you can manage to fit in two more test dates- october, take sat 2s, nov take sat Is again.

Why not? It's not just about the scores. staticsoliloquy from these boards got into MIT with a 1360 after all. Focus on other things if you can. Retake if you can do better and if you have time, otherwise, SAT IIs come first.

sigh...i dunno, my EC's rn't that impressive or anything..i just can't believe how much i screwed on math. i'm sure i can increase by at least 100pts. but yeah, if i was gonna apply reg, is december too late for exams?

December, I recall reading, is the last date for reg. decision. Don't worry, just take SATIIs in october, and then retake the SAT and you'll be fine.

hi every body
infact i dont know how to calculate the writing section
in my score report i have a column for ( writing = 360) then another column for (writing sub scores , mulipchoice =38 and essay =04)
can any one help me and tell me how to get my over all writing score and what do they mean by ( writing = 360)

well, the multiple choice =38 is your mc score. the essay is out of 12. And if I'm not mistaken, the 360 is out of 800? I took the sat ii last year and don't know if they changed the system :)

You can still take the november SAT's and apply EA. Your scores are not bad enough to commit suicide. On a side note, my friend got into MIT with a 1300.
