I'm a rising senior looking to save my parents a little money on college apps (I feel pretty guilty for applying to so many) so I think that I can start by only submitting only one set of scores (for now, until I can retake both tests in the fall)
So basically, can someone tell me which score is better?

I think it depends on each school. If a school is big on math, submit the SAT. If it’s big on English, submit the ACT. You can also look at average SAT and ACT scores of each school and see which one looks better compared to those stats.

If I were you, I’d retake the ACT next month. Since you did so well in SAT-M, the ACT math will be easier for you. The only difference is speed, and you can practice that at home against the kitchen timer. With a 760 on SAT-M, you should be able to easily clear 33 on the ACT. That would work wonders for your application.

(Tip: the ACT-M always has four trig problems on it, two of which are always right angle problems, easily solved by the Pythag theorem.)

I’m applying to 8 colleges, plus 3 accelerated med programs. But if I finish all of those in time, I’m gonna start on an extended list of “reaches”. I just don’t want to spread myself too thin.

Ok, sounds pretty good. I’ve always looked at the combined and composite scores of schools, I’ve never really looked at the subjects individually. Thanks!

Yea, I agree. I really dont know what went wrong, I’m actually a math/science kinda person. I think I didn’t prepare enough, and I definitely wasn’t ready for the time to run out so fast on the science section.
