2080 in June, 2300 in October. Impossible?

Hello, in June I took the SAT and this is what I got:

Math 740
CR 670
W 670 (10 essay)
Total = 2080

I am studying arduously and retaking in October. Now, have you ever seen this score jump to 2300? Is it even possible? Anecdotes etc would be appreciated, that's all. Thanks :)

Of course it’s possible. Most don’t attain that high of an increase, however, especially in the upper score range.

Good luck.

I also got a 2080,in June. hoping for 2300+ as well~

It’s definitely possible, but you’ll really have to study. By that, I don’t mean study for ten hours a day, just use your time wisely. When you get in the high ranges, it’s really all about not making dumb mistakes. But good luck!

Nothing’s Impossible. Cliche as it sounds, it really depends how much you study and how long you study. If you’re studying for an hour every week, will that increase happen? maybe not. But if you’re really committed to that score increase, I recommend studying for 5+ hours a week. I’m aiming for a 400 point increase, and atm, I don’t see that happening. For the simple fact that I didn’t give myself enough time. (I started studying last week). Good luck and STUDY!

I got a 2080 the first time I took it as well.

also depends on how much prep you had before getting 2080.

i began studying last week. how many hours a week do you think i should study in order to meet this goal? obviously different people learn at different speeds but i still want your opinions

i had little prep before the 2080. i’ve never taken a prep class but i bought the blue book and did 3 practice tests before it. it was just practice but i didnt really learn anything specific. my junior year PSAT about 6 months before that scored a 190

300 point increases are the norm at my school.
Except, it’s usually more like from 1300 to 1800…

It’s def. hard, but I think it’s possible.

Edit: I think an hour a day would be sufficient for me. I don’t know what would work for you.

1800 - 1300 = 300

does not compute

hence why he said “except, its usually more like”.

I thought he meant “except, instead of 1800-2100, it’s more like 1300-1800”

but w/e

Immense gains such as this are statistically unlikely and if occurred would likely be investigated by College Board.

…lol wut?

2000-2300 is hopefully possible put I think they investigate 500 point increases

investigate? for what?

wth? Seriously?

How would they prove anything, regardless? The ID system is very crappy.

I went from a 1610 to a 2250 and they didn’t investigate.
