how much difference is there?

is it possible for that 100 point difference to be a college's decision on whether to accept me or not?

from what i heard, it depends on how you scored your 2100. if you got a 700 exactly on all 3 sections, i'm sure it'll barely matter at all. but.. if you scored less than a 700 on any section, a school like harvard might not like it.

i believe 2200 vs 2300 is less of a difference too.

I don't think there's much of a difference from 2100+ up. I agree though...it sort of is psychology of the colleges on part of how you got the score. <600 isn't too good for the Ivies, according to this site.

Its like this ... I believe if you got 700 in all 3 then even the ivies will consider you application ... but lets say that it goes down to the wire ... then obviously a 2200 will make more of an impact than a 2100 ....

There's a notable difference. 2100 is borderline for some 'higher ivies' where 700 is the 25 percentile mark. 2200 means a good distance above 700 in each section, if it's evenly distributed. It's more solid.

Individual section score is far more important, as was stated, though.

750CR 750M 600W is a lot better than 690CR 690M 720W.
