Thanks everyone!
USC would probably be a reach. I don’t know what you want to major in, but here are some others to look into:
Reach - Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, UC Berkeley
Match - UCSB, UC Irvine, Colorado College
Safety - CSU Long Beach
UCR and Cal Poly Pomona might be reasonable safety/low matches, with Cal Poly SLO being a solid match. If you’re not opposed to leaving Cali, other suggestions could be:
REACHES - UChicago, Carnegie Mellon, Vanderbilt, Rice, NYU (financially; even though you aren’t applying for financial aid, it’s $71k for next year)
MATCHES - UMichigan, UMinnesota, UWisconsin, UMaryland, UVA
“Also not applying for financial Aid”
Do determine just exactly how much money you have available to pay for your education. As pointed out above, the Cost of Attendance at NYU is now more than US $70,000 each year. Can your business sustain that kind of expense, or do you also have access to money from other sources?
Think long and hard about what to do with your business. Will you be able to maintain it while studying full time, or would it make more sense for you to study part time so that you can have both the energy and the time to devote to it?
Before suggesting other colleges, it might help to know what it is you like about USC.
Stanford really likes entrepreneurs. It’s a reach for everyone, but you have a shot.
@tk21769 Its a beatiful campus with a great education, but I love pretty campuses
@happymomof1 My family is not eligible for financial aid.
^ But does that mean your family is willing to Pay $70K/year for NYU?
If you want not only a beautiful campus, but also options less selective than USC, and maybe a West Coast location (although you did not mention that) … then consider:
UC Davis
UC SB
UC Santa Cruz
UWashington
Occidental (if a small LAC is o.k.)
Whitman College (another LAC)
Pepperdine
University of the Pacific
Loyola Marymount
Elsewhere in the western USA:
UHawaii Manoa
Colorado-Boulder
Colorado College (another LAC)
