2170!! Please help!

Hi guys,

I have a 2170 in my sats!
CR- 710
Writing- 720
math - 740
essay: 11

GPA: top 10% of the grade!!

I know this is insufficient in deciding whether I will be accepted but still do you guys think that I have a chance at any of the ivy leagues?

Harvard? Yale? Brown? Dartmouth?

It is very insufficient. But that’s an okay score for them. Destroy your essays and have demolishing Recs and you stand a solid chance.

I’m an international student n I gave my SAT in November… scored the same but my breakup is different:
CR 690
Math 800
Writing 680 ( 10 in the essay )
Pretty disappointed with my writing n CR… Yet is very difficult for me to balance school n American standardized tests. Still with an expected 800 in 3 SAT Subject tests( math 2, physics n chem) n a score of 5 in 3 APs (physics c mech, chem n calc ab)
Does Ivy n MIT sound farfetched or achievable?

Thanks a lot for the help!

@qwerrasdff: It is not a bad score, although, in my opinion, if the Writing MC score in the 60s (600s) it is a little low.

@Yammy: MIT could be doable with 800s in Math II, Chem & Physics & 5s on those AP Tests. However, Ivies may prefer higher CR & W scores, especially the W Multiple choice score. They usually want scores in the 700s. Also, you may want to start your own separate thread rather than rail this one.

Thanks a lot guys, i could really use some more feedback on my chances in the ivy leagues…

Apply for the Ivys. As long as you’re in the middle 50% you have a chance
