So I'm a sophmore and this is my first time taking it. I've actually been studying somewhat over the summer and wondering if this is a decent score. My goal is 2300+ and my breakdown is R: 690 (ouch) M: 780 and W: 710. So I'm wondering how much studying I should be doing from now on and how to improve that reading score. Any advice would be nice. Thanks :)

is that on a practice test or a real test? it depends, because on practice tests, your score may be higher than in a real testing environment (and depending on the prep book)

Well the thread does say practice… but I’m guessing that on a real test I’d be able to score 2100+ for the practice test, but I guess what I really need is just advice

I love how you said “690 (ouch)” as if a 690 is a bad score. What exactly do you need advice on?

how I can get my writing and reading scores up

read more books and practice

Well, if your goal is 2300+, then it technically is a “bad score”…

Nevertheless, writing is easy to increase. Just remember the basic rules of grammar and you should be fine. Writing questions are ALL SIMILAR. They have a clear pattern. Once you figure out the pattern, you’ll do fine.
Reading is harder to increase. For passage reading questions just remember the ANSWER IS IN THE TEXT. Also, read some articles from magazines like Times, Economist, etc.
