So I just found out I was admitted and was selected as a 21st Century Scholar. Any other CCers get this? Also - does anyone have any more information on it? Seems like there are some cool internship opportunities along with the actual scholarship, however, some of the descriptions were vague. :-P

Congrats on your acceptance! I just got the email and I’m a 21st Century Scholar, too I don’t have any info about the details, though…Can anybody enlighten us, please? :)

Congrats kiterunner18 and cybersentience! I just got the mail as well about being a 21st Century Scholar and I’m also in the dark as to what it actually means. Also, what are the chances of getting them to increase the amount of aid offered? If anyone could help, I would be extremely grateful!

From what I’ve read the 21st Century Scholar merit award (which is a newer award) is 20.000 for everyone. I don’t know if they would increase that, but maybe they would another award or grant.

I’m on the same boat. All I know is that it’s a merit award, they take 30 girls a year, and it gives you the 20k scholarship and internship opportunities (basically, what the letter said). If anyone can enlighten me, it’d be greatly appreciated.

My daughter was offered a 21st Century Scholars award last year (she declined). She was offered a small grant on top of that and I believe a federal loan. On her visit to Mt Holyoke, she was told that to be offered this program - they must have thought a lot of her. So it is prestigious.

hey congrats to you guys!

i got it too. i visited campus and asked the admissions woman about it. Her name is cherry cachero. email her if you have questions! She was helpful. I think its cjcachero@mtholyoke.edu.

anyways it basically includes 20.000 in merit money each year and you get a special tutorial with a prof second semester. Plus u get a grant for a summer internship of your choice. and you also get to have dinner with the other students who got this every semester and i think the college president joins that dinner.

so its sort of a vip treatment :)

My daughter will not be attending but was very honored by the award. It just wasn’t enough and she got more elsewhere. I hope others that want to go are able to attend and have a great 4 years!

What were all of your stats?
