2260 SAT or 33 ACT?

Hi everyone! I’m really conflicted on which score I should send. I know I can send both, but if one is clearly better than the other I wont. Here’s the break down:

SAT:
Writing 770
Reading 730
Math 760
Essay 10

ACT:
Writing 33
Reading 33
Math 31
Science 34
Essay 9

My gpa is a 3.9/4 unweighted and 4.76/5.3 weight; I’m applying to mostly top 30 or 40 schools for the mos part and want to go into business if that matters in any way. So please help and thank you!

Well the estimated conversion between ACT and SAT is that a 33 is in the range of 2140-2210 so by those figures your SAT score would be better, however keep in mind that these are estimates

I do not think either score is that different from each other. Depending on where you apply, the 760 math and 730 in reading could look better than a 31 and a 33 (especially if you are applying to a technical school). Also, some colleges ask for the ACT or SAT with SAT 2. Since you did really well on the science section of your ACT, it might be worth it to send the ACT to avoid taking subject tests (if you already took the tests and got great scores, just ignore the previous sentence  ). If you send both, though, I don’t think it will harm you.

@SJ1616 and @mat324 thank you both for your answers! i’m most likely sending in my sats…but we’ll see how much subjects go in June. I already took chem and got a 730. I’ll be taking Math 2 and probably lit. if you have any other advice, please let me know. thanks so much

Your SAT is slightly better in composite score and also the distribution of section scores. If you are going to submit any SAT2 score(s), then you should submit your SAT as well for no extra cost.

The scores really aren’t that much different. But I would go with the SAT.

Since you took SAT 2, I would definitely submit SAT. Good luck on math 2 and english!

Send them both. They are good and you will show that you do well in both formats and that neither was luck.

thank you everyone!! i really appreciate it @billcsho @SJ1616 @glido @TheDidactic
