So, thoughts? RD for all. I did interviews for Cornell and UPenn, Cornell guy said he'd write me a "great evaluation" (he seemed really sincere too) and the UPenn interviewer said I was "great at interviews", so that's good I suppose. How much do they care about interviews?

Interviews, not much, but STATS, yes and they should like your STATS. Your APs are plenty and you have enough 5s. I think you are match. Except, Stanford.

You’re really strong, but I don’t know if you can be a match for Stanford just yet. You definitely have a very good shot at both though, especially looking at your EC’s and awards. Grades/SAT/SAT 2 could be a little bit higher, but I think you’re probably within normal percentile. As long as you did your essays well, you’re strongly competitive. And for Cornell and Upenn (especially cornell), I’d be surprised if they don’t accept you. Good luck :)

Thanks guys, bump

Given your interest in CS, I’m surprised you haven’t done CS research or worked at some type of tech company. Your stats make you competitive and your EC’s are pretty good, but many CS applicants have done research or a CS internship. Also, a lot of applicants to the college you’re aiming for have made AIME, semifinals (or above) in USA(X)O, semifinals (or above) in science fair, etc. Your awards will definitely help you, but more well-known contests would have been better. Here’s what I think of your chances:

Stanford - Impossible to predict unless you’re a URM
Columbia, UPenn - Reach, but still possible
Cornell - Lower reach than Columbia or UPenn
Rice - Low reach or high match (difficult to say IMO)

Thanks for the chances. Yeah I don’t really have any major recognizable awards, but I did do programming in VEX robotics and programmed Video Games for TSA so that’s where my CS experience comes from. Hopefully I’ll get an internship over the summer.

Bumpingbump

Bumpy bumpy

As good a shot as any. GL

Bumpyyyyyyyyyyy

If your essays were good I see no reason why you shouldn’t be admitted to those schools.

I think you have a shot! Just make sure to write good essays and make sure that you have good recommendations. Of course the schools that you are applying to are reaches and a crapshoot for everybody bc of all the applications they get each application season, but you have a shot! Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=15268935</a></p>

It’s a shame that you didn’t retake the SAT. You scored 670 on the one section that can be easily studied for, and 800 on the other two. If you had bought a grammar book and learned your rules, you could now easily be 2350+. Regardless, you are a strong candidate for these universities.

Yeah that was actually my second try on the sat, first time I got 2130. I was really focused on raising my reading up from 680, so I didn’t study as much as I should have for writing. Thanks for the input!

Bumpyyyyyy

Stanford - high reach
Columbia - reach
UPenn - reach
Cornell - high match
Rice - match

Chance back, please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1452005-please-chance-me.html</a></p>

Bumpin one more time

Bumpin one more time

High match at cornell, the rest are reaches. Stats are great, but nothing really stands out- stats aren’t everything in applications
