2280 Retake?

<p>Hello everyone,</p>

<p>I took the october 4 SAT got a total score of 2280</p>

<p>CR = 760 99%
Math = 780 99%
Writing = 740 (essay 11) 98% </p>

<p>Should i consider a retake?</p>

<p>I'm a student from Canada and considering the some ivies (cornell, brown, Mit, stanford) and higher public school (such as Berkley)</p>

<p>Would a 2280 suffice for an international student?
(even if i get in, what are the chances of financial aid/merit scholarships?)</p>

<p>(ps. I'm pretty sure that i can get a 800 on math, but my reading is not as consistent)</p>

<p>your score is amazing! but if this is your first time, you can consider retaking. it's recommended that everyone take the SAT twice, even if you think you did your best the first time. most colleges look at your superscore and your scores in each section can fluctuate 10-50 points each time you take it, so it's all in your favor.</p>

<p>but generally, is 2280 good enough, granted that i get at least a 3.9 unweighted GPA?</p>

<p>While you can fluctuate, your percentiles are very high, it is likely you would go down somewhere. Focus on subject tests if you have not taken those.</p>

<p>some schools don't even look at writing, 1540/1600 is great.</p>

<p>If you consistently scored higher on practice tests and think you would actually improve by 50+ points, then retake....but if this was a really good score for you then you might not improve much(or at all) on a retake. and 760/780 won't keep you out of any school.</p>

<p>good luck with your retake as well. a lot of people have told me "Don't retake! That's crazy" but as a Junior w/ score choice I'm actually gonna retake until I get a 2400</p>

<p>Yeah I usually never scored 800 on CR so I'm holding onto my 2270 because I'd probably do worse next time</p>
