2290....retake? :/

So, I got 2290:
800 Math
770 CR
720 Writing

Before, I had from last May old SAT 1550 (800M 750V) and from January Writing SAT II 800, totalling to 2350. This is a huge score drop. Should I retake? I really want to get into HYPMS...

First check if they'll take a composite... but if you're just going to retake 2290, I would personally say no but if it floats your boat...

How do I check if they'll take a composite?

Hmm... Call them? Ask other people who may have the same problem...

I'm not really sure myself but im guessing calling or emailing them might be the best choice.

efff youuu.. ;p
everyone has different standards, i know i probably wouldnt retake a 2290. although im retaking my 2230..

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

If I had a 2290, I'd definitely move on and forget about the SAT. But if you feel confident you can do better, I don't see how it'll hurt to try for that perfect score.

OH MY!!!! I'm major upset!!
I got a 1500 on the old test and 2100 on the new one. Should I retake it or just quit this shxt since I already got a good score??? Someone please give me some advice.

Don't retake it. Those scores are fine.

people like you should not be on this message board. retaking a 2290?!!!!!!!! efffff uuuuuuuuuuuuuu!! stop being so cocky!!!

do you guys think a 2090 is enough to get me into places like berk? i know i could do a lot better (i barely did any prep work and i was getting 2200s on practice tests) but if my score is sufficient to put me in at berk i really dont want to take it again...thanks

You might need better for Berk. I know someone with and Old SAT of 1540 who was rejected. And I'm not trying to be cocky. I just want to know if I should retake or not!

The key to retaking is where do you want to go. If you're looking at ivies etc higher is always better.

Im retaking my 1810 if thats any help

2290 is a really great score

I got a 2290, almost like yours. 800 Math, 720 CR, 770 Writing. I am retaking, since i've never taken an sat before. If you think you could get your score higher, like i think i can, then do it! good luck, and 2290 is an awesome score

I got your score identically, so we are in the same boat. Going in and coming out of the test I thought I would easily get an 800 in writing. I KNOW I can do better in writing, which kind of makes me want to retake it. However, I do not want to sit through that endurance test again for 5 hours.

One thing that's really keeping me from retaking is to view my/your score in terms of the old SAT, a 1570.

I just went on a huge college trip around the ivies and such, and almost all said they really aren't going to consider the writing section that much until the college class of 2010 or 2011. I forgot which one. If you are a junior, then you are 2009, so you shouldn't worry about it and be happy with your 1570.

I'm retaking my 1860 twice hopefully...
I almost hate going on these boards lol--i was a bit dissapointed with my score and when I come on here its like wow am I stupid :)
GJ elcommando with a sub 1900 score ;) like me :)

Why did you want to take the new one in the first place if you already had a 2350...?

our year... well, there is no "top score" because it's hard to decide since there will be like 4 showings of the test... heh...

as long as you got a 2000+, I'd say it's fine.
